Ch. 202Courting Death

Qu Jianlei rescued Salivan from a Space Pirate stronghold, destroyed the site, and learned that Salivan suspected a large pirate warehouse was nearby. He left Salivan recovering in a hidden camp and went to the burned military station, planning to wait for Pan Yifu.

  • Qu Jianlei knocked out the stronghold’s occupants, removed its supplies, set the room holding the unconscious people on fire, and carried Salivan to a hidden camp.
  • Salivan mourned the medicine his dead wife and son had lacked, then told Qu Jianlei he might have drawn attention by asking about Pan Yifu.
  • Salivan revealed that he suspected a heavily guarded Space Pirate warehouse held incoming supplies and urged an attack before the coming battle.
  • Qu Jianlei told Salivan to recover and left to seek Pan Yifu, reasoning that the Rank A Warrior might investigate reports of burned Levy Points.
  • Qu Jianlei reached the burned military station and saw it guarded by Space Pirates, Rank B Warriors, and dozens of mechs.

Ch. 203The Indifference of the Strong

Qu Jianlei watched Pan Yifu and two Rank B Warriors investigate the missing carpenter Salivan, learning that their own actions had led to Salivan being handed over to the space pirates. He followed the three onward, determined to discover which Pioneering Group they belonged to.

  • Qu Jianlei stayed hidden as Pan Yifu arrived with an Earth Attribute Rank B and a Wood Attribute Rank B, and the three infiltrated the Settlement.
  • The three captured six residents and tortured them until they learned that Salivan, a carpenter suspected of informing for a Pioneering Group, was missing from the burned military outpost.
  • Pan Yifu and his companions considered whether a Pioneering Group had rescued Salivan and used an Item-Storing Talisman to carry away the outpost's supplies.
  • Qu Jianlei realized the three had leaked information about Salivan to the space pirates after his apprentice asked about Pan Yifu.
  • Pan Yifu's companions dismissed Salivan as an untrustworthy native and defended sacrificing him to reduce their own danger, so Qu Jianlei continued following them to identify their Pioneering Group.

Ch. 204Fishing in Troubled Waters (Third Update, Please Vote for September's Guaranteed Monthly Pass)

Qu Jianlei watched Pan Yifu and two Fat Fox warriors raid Levy Points, then began striking the space pirates’ rear on his own. After he learned that the pirates were consolidating their forces around larger barracks, he chose to wait and observe a river-side barracks rumored to have a large warehouse.

  • Qu Jianlei followed Pan Yifu and two Rank B warriors as they raided a Levy Point, escaped the pursuing space pirates, and delivered fuel to Fat Fox’s Secret Vault.
  • Qu Jianlei tracked the two warriors to their meeting with Pan Yifu, then began his own raids, destroying two Levy Points in one night.
  • Qu Jianlei returned to Salivan and refused to escort him to Blazing Fire, explaining that his mission was to disrupt the space pirates’ rear.
  • Qu Jianlei discovered that the space pirates were abandoning Levy Points and consolidating their forces in medium and large barracks.
  • Qu Jianlei observed the formidable defenses of a medium-sized barracks and focused on one beside a river, where Salivan said a large warehouse was located.

Ch. 205Outrageous Bullying

Qu Jianlei monitored a suspicious riverside site, reported intelligence to Mu Guoguo, and built a Secret Camp for Blazing Fire’s possible retreat. As the Space Pirates began their campaign against Blazing Fire, Qu Jianlei attacked their scouts and logistics, prompting their Rank B Warriors to recognize him as a major threat.

  • Qu Jianlei observed the riverside high ground and suspected it concealed a warehouse, then contacted Mu Guoguo and reported the intelligence he had gathered.
  • Mu Guoguo asked Qu Jianlei to build a Secret Camp for Blazing Fire’s fighters and warned him about the Space Pirates’ bounty on him.
  • Qu Jianlei expanded a Secret Vault into a camp for two hundred people, completed it after ten nights, and brought Salivan to help guard it.
  • Qu Jianlei learned that the Space Pirates had begun fighting Blazing Fire and discovered they had found Blazing Fire’s reservoir, so he attacked their scout squads and killed more than thirty people.
  • Space Pirates’ Rank B Warriors debated recruiting or capturing Black Sky before learning that an Electromagnetic Art had burned most of their logistics convoy’s supplies.

Ch. 206Targeted

Qu Jianlei attacked the space pirates’ scouts and supply routes as Black Sky, forcing them to strengthen their defenses while he evaded capture. After unknown attackers massacred a scout team under his banner, Qu Jianlei fled the scene and the chapter revealed that his new opportunity had begun when he witnessed two native teenagers encounter a space pirate patrol.

  • Qu Jianlei ambushed a scout team protected by two Rank B Warriors, badly injuring Charles before escaping and prompting the pirates to deploy larger scout squads and supply convoys.
  • Qu Jianlei saw through a later decoy scout team, killed an Earth Attribute Rank B Warrior with a Thunder Dragon, and escaped; a Fire Attribute pursuer never returned.
  • Space pirates spread word that a leader would capture Black Sky, but Qu Jianlei continued striking their forces, while other attackers began using his name as cover.
  • Unknown attackers wiped out a scout team of more than ninety people, and reinforcements found that most victims had been killed with Metal Attribute arts or in close combat.
  • Qu Jianlei fled after cleaning up the massacre’s battlefield, and the chapter revealed that his scheme began when he saw two native teenagers hunting with bows encounter a space pirate patrol.

Ch. 207Impersonating Myself

Qu Jianlei used his reputation as Black Sky to justify using his full range of arts, then launched a major attack on a Space Pirate force to answer for the fall of Blaze’s camp. He left most of the force trapped in quicksand and began shooting down its arriving air reinforcements as a powerful figure approached.

  • Qu Jianlei watched two boys use Black Sky’s name to escape the Space Pirates and realized he could impersonate himself while freely using arts beyond Electromagnetic Art.
  • Qu Jianlei learned that Blaze’s camp had fallen and that the Space Pirates had beheaded and displayed wounded captives, so he decided to strike back decisively.
  • Qu Jianlei attacked a force of more than five hundred Space Pirates with Quicksand Art, then destroyed its two flight mechs with his sniper rifle.
  • Qu Jianlei intensified the quicksand until it swallowed most of the force while the surviving Space Pirates fired wildly and called for reinforcements.
  • More than ten flight mechs arrived, and Qu Jianlei shot them down as a figure flew toward the battlefield.

Ch. 208Thoughts Must Be Clear

Qu Jianlei defeated the Ninth Leader and several Rank B Warriors, survived the space pirates’ saturation bombardment by sheltering underground, and displayed three heads outside their camp. After the pirates vowed revenge, he quietly reached a suspected large warehouse to see whether they would replenish their lost supplies there.

  • Qu Jianlei knocked the Ninth Leader unconscious with Mental Attacks, buried the surrounding space pirates with Quicksand Art, and killed the Ninth Leader and two Rank B Warriors with Golden Rays.
  • Qu Jianlei caught five more Rank B Warriors in Quicksand Art and killed the last two as they called for a saturation bombardment.
  • Qu Jianlei sheltered in a reinforced underground space through the bombardment, then emerged after more than a day and found the mechs and supplies destroyed.
  • Qu Jianlei hung the three heads outside the space pirates’ camp, prompting them to identify him as the escaped pioneer and vow revenge.
  • Qu Jianlei left the encirclement zone and arrived at a suspected large warehouse to investigate whether the space pirates would take replacement supplies.

Ch. 209This Warehouse Is Anything but Ordinary

Qu Jianlei discovered that a hidden force of long-settled pioneers was helping the Space Pirates defend their garrisons while Blazing Fire struggled to move its wounded to safety. After his radio transmissions were detected, the Space Pirates launched an unexpected artillery barrage inside their own territory.

  • Qu Jianlei learned that the Space Pirates had lost the Seventh and Ninth Leaders and were preparing fierce retaliation, while Mu Guoguo told him Blazing Fire needed medicine and help evacuating its wounded.
  • Qu Jianlei watched more than six thousand people emerge from a concealed warehouse, including Ultimate Warriors, Modified Warriors, and Rank B fighters, then enter a nearby Space Pirate garrison.
  • Qu Jianlei realized the hidden force consisted of Pioneering Group members who had joined the Space Pirates, and saw them take over three garrisons as Space Pirate troops departed for the front lines.
  • Qu Jianlei contacted Mu Guoguo to report the hidden force, but they had to end their conversations when their radio was exposed.
  • Qu Jianlei's radio was detected again, and the Space Pirates fired artillery at him despite the location being within their own territory.

Ch. 210Targeted Again

Qu Jianlei survived a costly artillery strike, then told Mu Guoguo that he suspected a major Pioneering Group was colluding with the Space Pirates, possibly Quantum. He investigated the Fat Fox Pioneering Group’s Secret Camp and saw signs that its former occupants had vanished, but lacked proof and left the truth unresolved.

  • Qu Jianlei escaped an artillery bombardment by running more than two kilometers, while two Rank B Warriors at the supply station argued over the attack and its consequences.
  • Qu Jianlei contacted Mu Guoguo and warned him that a large Pioneering Group might be guarding the Space Pirates’ home base, naming Quantum as his suspicion without evidence.
  • Qu Jianlei explained his suspicions about Fat Fox to Mu Guoguo, who told him to prioritize his safety and try to identify the enemy forces.
  • After ending the call when natives came searching, Qu Jianlei avoided attacking them and went to observe the Fat Fox Pioneering Group’s Secret Camp.
  • Qu Jianlei watched the Secret Camp for days and saw two people enter, briefly noticing that it appeared empty; he chose not to capture them because his suspicions remained unproven.

Ch. 211Got It Wrong

Qu Jianlei learned from Mu Guoguo that Diamond, not Quantum, was the suspected defecting Heaven Rank Group, after his intelligence led Black Rain and the Engineering Corps to investigate. Fang Cao met Diamond’s leaders to discuss cooperation, but Diamond’s people attacked Black Rain during the gathering.

  • Qu Jianlei searched for Pan Yifu and Fat Fox’s two Rank B Warriors for three days, then contacted Mu Guoguo and learned that Diamond was the group with a problem.
  • Mu Guoguo told Fang Cao that Black Sky’s intelligence implicated a Heaven Rank Group, and Fang Cao considered Diamond among the possible suspects.
  • Diamond’s leader and deputy leader visited Black Rain to discuss cooperation while the Engineering Corps was under siege.
  • Fang Cao told Diamond’s leaders about the suspected defection and accepted their offer to let Black Rain inspect Diamond’s members.
  • Fang Cao hosted Diamond’s visitors for drinks, and Diamond’s people suddenly attacked Black Rain’s camp.

Ch. 212Who Could They Still Trust?

Black Rain defeated Diamond’s ambush and confirmed that Diamond had defected to the Space Pirates, leaving the Pioneering Groups wary of further betrayals. Qu Jianlei learned that Fat Fox had also defected but Quantum had not, while Scarlet agreed to a thorough investigation.

  • Baldy joined Fang Cao and Red Cloud in battle, forcing Diamond’s leaders to flee and leaving most of their fighters captured or dead.
  • Black Rain interrogated the prisoners and confirmed Diamond had sent pioneers to help the Space Pirates defend their stronghold, while some Diamond members who opposed the defection had been imprisoned.
  • Mu Guoguo worried that Scarlet might defect too, and Qu Jianlei argued that Scarlet’s wider organization still had plenty of Rank A fighters and Supremes.
  • Qu Jianlei followed Pan Yifu and two Rank B Fat Fox fighters to a Settlement, missing a communication window with Mu Guoguo.
  • At the next communication window, Mu Guoguo told Qu Jianlei that Fat Fox had defected to the Space Pirates but that Quantum was not implicated, and he said Black Rain had informed Scarlet, which supported a thorough investigation.

Ch. 213Long Time No See

Qu Jianlei warned Pan Yifu that Fat Fox had defected to the Space Pirates, and Pan Yifu’s two Rank B companions revealed their connection to Fat Fox by trying to flee. Pan Yifu restrained them and explained that he had already been wary of their unusual appearance and behavior.

  • Scarlet’s Old Ghost agreed to aid Black Rain and contract Scarlet’s defensive lines while Leader Mu warned the Pioneering Groups about Diamond’s Rank As.
  • Qu Jianlei found Pan Yifu at a restaurant run by Fat Fox’s scouts and waited until Pan Yifu left with two Rank B Warriors the next morning.
  • Qu Jianlei revealed his Earth Spike Swarm to prove his Rank A strength, and Pan Yifu recognized him as the Warrior who had killed the Space Pirates’ Ninth Leader.
  • Qu Jianlei told Pan Yifu that Fat Fox had defected to the Space Pirates, and the Rank B Wood Attribute Warrior tried to escape.
  • Qu Jianlei trapped the fleeing warrior in quicksand, while Pan Yifu cut his vine with a White Flame Blade and threatened him into submission.
  • Pan Yifu explained that he had kept his distance from Fat Fox because the scouts’ arrival and their invitations to the Secret Camp had seemed suspicious.

Ch. 214Impervious to Reason

Qu Jianlei and Pan Yifu questioned two Fat Fox captives about the group’s secret alliance with the Space Pirates and the whereabouts of its fighters. Their interrogation also raised doubts about a captive’s claim that he had never betrayed the pioneers, while Qu Jianlei suggested Salivan had been Blaze’s informant.

  • After subduing the two Fat Fox Rank Bs, Pan Yifu asked Qu Jianlei about his identity and his knowledge of Fat Fox’s defection.
  • Qu Jianlei described the clash between Black Rain and Diamond, told Pan Yifu that Diamond members were defending the Space Pirates, and revealed that he had found Fat Fox’s Secret Camp on the mountainside.
  • Pan Yifu questioned a Fat Fox captive, who explained that the group had secretly sided with the Space Pirates after growing dissatisfied with the Quantum Pioneering Group’s treatment of its hired teams.
  • The Earth Attribute Warrior said Fat Fox’s forty or fifty best fighters had left the Secret Camp and might have gone to the military station, while insisting that he had never provided the Space Pirates with intelligence.
  • Qu Jianlei challenged the captive’s claim by mentioning Salivan, and told Pan Yifu that Salivan had likely been an informant for Blaze.

Ch. 215Cooperation?

Qu Jianlei and Pan Yifu debated the fate of captured Space Pirates before agreeing to limited cooperation and information sharing. After Pan Yifu executed a captured Wood Attribute Warrior, Qu Jianlei discovered a locator hidden in the man’s mouth.

  • Qu Jianlei warned the Earth Attribute Warrior about the people he had tortured, while Pan Yifu offered to take the man along to help uncover enemy spies.
  • Pan Yifu asked Qu Jianlei to cooperate against the growing Space Pirate threat, and Qu Jianlei agreed only if his judgment took priority; Pan Yifu rejected that condition and proposed sharing intelligence through a Handheld Transceiver instead.
  • Pan Yifu interrogated the Wood Attribute Warrior, who claimed he had done nothing wrong and asked to redeem himself, but Pan Yifu beheaded him.
  • Qu Jianlei examined the Wood Attribute Warrior’s mouth and found a locator hidden inside.

Ch. 216Turning Their Scheme Against Them

Qu Jianlei and Pan Yifu learned that Fat Fox’s men had a locator and used it to mislead a pursuing Space Pirate ambush. The enemy’s five-person team prepared to attack, but Qu Jianlei and Pan Yifu changed course, leaving the pursuers uncertain whether they had been discovered.

  • Qu Jianlei found and removed a pressure-triggered locator from the Earth Attribute warrior, then had him lead the way toward the Secret Camp.
  • Qu Jianlei sensed five pursuers approaching, including Third Boss and Tenth Boss, while Pan Yifu assessed their lineup and likely plan to attack him.
  • Qu Jianlei suggested turning northwest and using the locator to draw the pursuers around, and Pan Yifu agreed.
  • Third Boss’s group noticed Qu Jianlei and Pan Yifu change direction and debated whether Pan Yifu had detected their ambush.

Ch. 217Shameless Ambush

Third Boss sent Tenth Boss after Pan Yifu, believing the tracker might be bait, but Qu Jianlei ambushed the pursuing Space Pirates with an Anti-Armor Sniper Rifle. The chapter ended with Qu Jianlei flying toward Tenth Boss while three Rank B Space Pirates were trapped in quicksand and realized who he was.

  • Third Boss ordered Tenth Boss to pursue the tracker and hold Pan Yifu while he checked for a possible ambush.
  • Tenth Boss found Pan Yifu and attacked him with Falling Rocks as he dodged and countered with Fire Dragon.
  • Third Boss flew toward the fight with three Rank B Space Pirates, then Qu Jianlei shot him twice with an Anti-Armor Sniper Rifle.
  • The Metal Attribute Space Pirate charged toward the shooter with the two Water Attribute users, but all three ran into Qu Jianlei's Quicksand Art.
  • Qu Jianlei ignored the trapped Space Pirates and flew toward Tenth Boss, and they recognized him as the man who had beheaded Ninth Leader.

Ch. 218Never Humiliate Me

Qu Jianlei and Pan Yifu defeated the Third Boss and Tenth Boss, then escaped before the Space Pirates’ reinforcements arrived. The Second Boss and Fourth Boss examined the aftermath and debated how to defend the Control Center, while Qu Jianlei and Pan Yifu reached Fat Fox’s Secret Camp.

  • Pan Yifu resumed fighting the Tenth Boss while Qu Jianlei flew off to finish the wounded Third Boss.
  • Pan Yifu trapped the Tenth Boss in a Flame Cage, and Qu Jianlei returned carrying the Third Boss’s head.
  • Qu Jianlei maintained Quicksand Art until the three Rank B Warriors’ Golden Armor Art failed, then killed them with the sniper rifle.
  • Qu Jianlei helped wear down the Tenth Boss, who self-destructed rather than be captured, and he and Pan Yifu fled into the forest.
  • Space Pirate mechs found traces of the battle, and the Second Boss recovered the Third Boss’s headless body while he and the Fourth Boss discussed the threat to the Control Center.
  • Qu Jianlei and Pan Yifu arrived at Fat Fox’s Secret Camp with the Rank B Earth Attribute warrior following them.

Ch. 219A Debt of Gratitude

Qu Jianlei helped Pan Yifu take supplies from Fat Fox’s Secret Camp in exchange for a favor, then learned that the Space Pirates were changing tactics and smearing other Pioneering Groups. The chapter left Qu Jianlei hearing from Mu Guoguo that Qian Duoduo was backed by the Energy Block Alliance.

  • Qu Jianlei and Pan Yifu entered Fat Fox’s Secret Camp, agreed to divide its supplies, and Qu Jianlei used his Item-Storing Talisman in return for Pan Yifu owing him a favor.
  • Qu Jianlei carried Pan Yifu’s share to his Secret Vault, then returned the Earth Attribute Rank B warrior and offered Pan Yifu contact by Handheld Transceiver.
  • Qu Jianlei later displayed the heads of the Third Boss and three Rank B warriors, while the Space Pirates’ Second Boss removed them.
  • The Space Pirates ordered their forces to consolidate and publicly accused Diamond and Fat Fox of defecting to the Raiders.
  • Qu Jianlei contacted Mu Guoguo, who explained that the Space Pirates were trying to sow conflict by accusing Qian Duoduo and other groups of ties to Diamond.
  • Mu Guoguo told Qu Jianlei that the Qian Duoduo Pioneering Group had support from the Energy Block Alliance.

Ch. 220Easy Pickings Aren't So Easy

Qu Jianlei helped Mu Huahua lead Blaze’s wounded through the blockades to his hidden Secret Camp, then teamed up with Pan Yifu to investigate another of Fat Fox’s Secret Vaults. After scouting the vault, Qu Jianlei found a trap.

  • Qu Jianlei arranged for Pan Yifu to distract the Space Pirates while Mu Huahua led twenty-six Blaze members through the blockades.
  • Qu Jianlei guided the wounded past the second blockade and brought them to a well-stocked Secret Camp, where he learned that A'Hu had been badly wounded during the Core Camp’s fall.
  • A'Hu told Qu Jianlei that most of the ordinary people killed or left behind had not been rescued, leaving Qu Jianlei disturbed by the war’s toll on civilians.
  • Pan Yifu invited Qu Jianlei to help retrieve supplies from another of Fat Fox’s Secret Vaults, offering him a forty-percent share.
  • Qu Jianlei scouted the Secret Vault and returned to tell Pan Yifu that it was trapped.

Ch. 221Fill in the Gaps

Pan Yifu and Qu Jianlei discovered two wilderness artillery positions prepared by the space pirates and attacked them before the pirates could use them. They destroyed the manned position and crippled the automated cannons, leaving the wider threat unresolved.

  • Pan Yifu and Qu Jianlei found concealed cameras and an alarm near Fat Fox's Secret Vault, then suspected the pirates had artillery positions nearby.
  • After searching for hours, Pan Yifu discovered a manned underground artillery position with more than twenty cannons, and Qu Jianlei later found a second, automated position with ten cannons.
  • Pan Yifu and Qu Jianlei agreed to strike both positions at the same time, with Qu Jianlei preparing to disable the automated cannons.
  • Qu Jianlei used Electromagnetic Entanglement to destroy the automated position's sensors and control systems while Pan Yifu set fire to the manned position.
  • Pan Yifu killed two wounded Rank C Warriors who tried to escape, confirmed there were no further surprises, and left to check on Asking Heart Array.
