Purple Sky looked like an immortal wonderland, with various shapes of immortal mountains resting upon the leaves of the wisteria vines. The mountain bodies rolled and undulated, and among the branches and leaves were many villages and city walls. The people looked like insects on a gourd vine, opening up fertile fields, planting crops, and multiplying.
Chen Shi flew closer and saw that these people were not truly human. They possessed human heads and bodies, with the bellies and wings of bees, and the villages and city walls they built were also shaped like beehives.
Their size was comparable to that of adults. After emerging from their houses, they would often flap their wings and take flight to gather nectar from the flowers within the immortal mountains.
Besides these bee people, there were also ant people with human heads and ant bodies, possessing four legs and two arms, and moving at a rather brisk speed.
Chen Shi also saw the carts and horses of the ant people traveling along the roads cleared out between the vine leaves and branches; those were caravans trading back and forth between different villages and city walls. The mounts at the front of the carts and horses were monsters with human heads and ox bodies, quite large in size.
These roads were wide enough for five or six carriages to run abreast. When they reached the main trunk of the vine, the roads were built winding around the trunk, climbing upward in circles.
In every circle, there were several large platforms spanning a dozen acres or so where beasts could rest. On the platforms were tea and pastry stalls, and the proprietors of the stalls were often rat people with rat heads and human bodies.
