This was the kingdom of the dragon race. Various kinds of dragons inhabited this place. Some immortal mountains had gigantic dragons coiled around them, exhaling the sun and moon, appearing vastly huge; other immortal mountains had dragon palaces built upon them where dragon kings resided, surrounded by charming female immortals who were the dragon king's family dependents.
Myriad Dragon Ridge was an ordinary dragon kingdom within the jurisdiction of the Azure Emperor of Heaven. Its territory was vast, with numerous immortal mountains. Many immortals liked living here because the dragon Qi was plentiful, capable of nurturing some marvelous things.
Among the wild mountains and fields were spiritual plots reclaimed by immortals to cultivate rare immortal items. During each harvest season, dragon immortals would come to collect rent, which was why this type of farming immortal was also called a tenant immortal, meaning an immortal who was like a tenant farmer.
Nearby, there were also village hamlets and towns. If the harvest was good and the cultivated spiritual herbs were more than enough, they could be taken to the towns to trade, exchanging them for other needed items.
Located at the foot of Heavenly Blessing Mountain was a patch of spiritual fields. What was planted in the fields was corn—maize. Spaced three to five paces apart per stalk, they grew to four or five zhang tall, their stalks thick and crimson like dragon blood. The yielded corn was taller than a person, with every single grain resembling a medicine pill, within which was contained a bountiful spiritual Qi of immortals, so rich it seemed as though it could turn into spiritual liquid.
