This great beam is truly a fine treasure!
Chen Shi propped his toes beneath the vermilion main beam, lifted his leg, and exerted force, sending one end of the beam flying upward.
He gently stroked this temple crossbeam. It was unimaginably smooth, and the gilded grand dragon upon it was so lifelike it was as if the moment it had transformed into a true dragon just now had merely been a fleeting dream.
Yet it had truly happened.
The very reason Chen Shi had shouldered this vermilion pillar to level mountains and smash temples was precisely because it had absorbed the incense-fire aura of the Mountain Lord Temple for who knows how many years, allowing it to suppress Grandma Black Mountain's magic power.
At the very last moment, he had poured his true qi into it with the sole objective of arousing the extraordinary might dormant within this beam.
He just never expected the effect to be so magnificent. The extraordinary might had actually manifested as a golden dragon, tearing Grandma Black Mountain to shreds, shattering her into dust, and even destroying this very temple!
Such a fine treasure...
Chen Shi could not bear to part with it, very much wanting to pocket this treasure right then and there. Yet, remembering how he had burned incense before the Mountain Lord's divine shrine and made a vow, he had no choice but to let the thought go.
When I get back, I'll hire some craftsmen to go to the Mountain Lord Temple, repair the front hall, and put this beam right back! Borrowing and returning makes borrowing again easy. Who's to say I won't have another occasion to borrow this treasure in the future? As long as I borrow it a few times more, wouldn't it practically become mine anyway?
