I rolled my eyes. What did he mean, "just those two requests"?
The first was for me to help Hera "resurrect" a new Zeus—to provide Zeus himself with a healthy soul vessel, one with exceptionally strong bodily functions. I had agreed to this before, but that had been when I didn't know Zeus was actually in cahoots with the Administration Bureau.
In other words, if I hadn't demonstrated a certain level of strength, or if he couldn't see that I had what it took to contend with the Administration Bureau, would Zeus have taken me seriously? No. He would have continued carrying out his agreement with the Administration Bureau. Then not only would there be no place for us in this, we might even end up becoming their enemies.
The second request was for me to help get rid of that fake Hades—the guy who had once passed us by.
It seemed like an easy task, but why did he want us to do it? I didn't believe Zeus had no other cards up his sleeve. I suspected that there were definitely experts as powerful as Hades inside his Mustard Seed Space, but he had been concealing his strength all along.
I felt that he wanted us to fight the Administration Bureau first, then sit back and reap the benefits.
Still, I agreed. After all, he had offered a condition I couldn't refuse. No matter how you put it, the internal strife didn't amount to much right now. The invasion of outsiders was what could truly lead to the destruction of the entire Earth.
What I couldn't understand was that these people clearly knew that when the nest was overturned, no egg could remain intact. Yet they still tirelessly pursued their own selfish interests.
