"Master Qi!"
I hurried forward, with Little Demon close behind me. It was no surprise that he knew Master Qi.
Gongshu Ce and Yuan Jiang stepped forward as well.
Master Qi looked at me, a faint smile appearing on his face. "Thank you for helping me find my poor little niece."
Although I hadn't had time to tell Master Qi about the girl before, Sister Lin must have told him after she returned. He had probably come looking for his niece after hearing about it from Sister Lin.
The girl looked at me, her gaze very calm.
Though there was little life in her eyes, I could tell that she wasn't a Living Dead. She had merely spent too long among them and been affected by them.
I remembered that the last time I had seen this girl was at the foot of Terrifying Ridge. But how had they gotten up onto the ridge? Did Master Qi not know how dangerous Terrifying Ridge was?
I was about to ask when Master Qi grabbed me. "Young Mr. Jiang, get out of here. Go back!"
"What is it, Master Qi?" I asked.
"I know you came up the mountain to find Zeng Dajiang. Luckily, you haven't seen him. Otherwise, you'd definitely be in danger. Zeng Dajiang is no longer the Zeng Dajiang he used to be. He's changed."
Little Demon shouted, "Master Qi, what are you talking about? How could Dajiang possibly change?"
Master Qi glanced at Little Demon. "He really has changed. He's become someone I don't even recognize. The old Dajiang was good to people. Every one of us had received more or less help and kindness from him. But now, it's as though he's become a completely different person—cold, heartless, with nothing but slaughter in his heart."
