So I was shocked as well. That red bead looked about the same size as the energy sphere the Heart Core had given me. I had originally thought the Heart Core Power I possessed would be enough to contend with it, but it seemed I had been wrong. Its energy was countless times stronger than what I had.

But the Heart Core did not answer. I could only feel the battle between the two forces growing fiercer. Fortunately, it did not affect me too badly—I meant it did not cause much discomfort in my body.

I shook my head. "They're fighting."
Ye Jinghong's eyes widened. "It made a move itself?"
I nodded. "Yes, but this time it didn't take over my body."

"Maybe it isn't time yet." I gave a bitter smile.
The moment I finished speaking, that burning sensation returned, as though my body had been set ablaze. This fire was even more lethal than when I had absorbed the Heart Core Power before.
Ye Jinghong noticed something was wrong too. She said, "Why is your face so red?"
This time, I could no longer speak. I struggled to endure it, terrified that if I opened my mouth, I would lose this breath of strength. I even suspected that if I could not hold on, this fire would burn me alive.
