I could describe my visit to this exhibition hall in four words.
Absolutely horrifying.
I knew that we humans could also be resurrected after death, though resurrection was extremely difficult and often came at an enormous cost.
But these higher-dimensional lifeforms were different. Their deaths were more like suspended death, and some of them retained terrifyingly powerful aggression even after dying.
Moreover, their attacks could very likely obtain energy or nourishment for their own resurrection. In other words, their deaths were actually a resting process of switching energy.
Of course, they could truly die as well, but the chances of that were far too low.
"So, they've actually come infinitely close to immortality?" I asked.
The voice replied, "No. Even higher-dimensional lifeforms cannot come close to immortality. But their lifespans are indeed very long, at least beyond anything you humans can imagine. However, there is one thing: they do not reproduce as quickly as humans do. Take the Fourteen-dimensional beings, for example. It is extremely difficult for them to produce the next generation. Even a hundred years of effort may not result in a single success. Dark matter lifeforms are the same. It is precisely because their reproductive ability is so low that they have maintained ecological balance. Unlike you humans—if every one of you had a lifespan of at least two hundred years, it would not take long for Earth's resources to be depleted by population growth. You should be able to imagine the final result."
We had discussed the problem of population explosion before.
I nodded. "The ultimate result of a population explosion is Earth's destruction."
"That's right. In fact, many of you humans do not know that some so-called terminal illnesses, as ordinary humans see them, were conquered long ago. Cancer, for example. They simply dared not
