I was about to speak when Fatty stopped me. "Let me talk to him."

Fatty stepped forward and cupped his hands toward Lu Liangchuan in greeting, like a martial artist meeting someone from the underworld.

"I've long heard of your name. I am Baozhengfo. Those in the underworld who give me face call me Buddha Lord." Fatty looked every bit the seasoned jianghu man.

But Lu Liangchuan seemed to have genuinely heard of Fatty's reputation. "You're Buddha Lord?"

"The genuine article. We've crossed paths twice before. Not face-to-face, perhaps, but that still counts as some sort of acquaintance, doesn't it?" Fatty smiled.

Lu Liangchuan pointed at me. "What is your relationship with this kid?"

Fatty said, "He's from Unit Nine."

"Ghost Hand" Lu Liangchuan's expression changed, and he became noticeably more wary. "Unit Nine? Old Shu's subordinate?"

Fatty nodded. "Xie Yi's man."

Lu Liangchuan gave a bitter smile. "Looks like I can't fight this one."

I also said sincerely, "We never intended to fight you from the beginning. I really only wanted to borrow the Soul Guiding Incantation."

Lu Liangchuan shook his head. "It's not that I don't want to give it to you. I already told you, it's no longer in my possession. I handed it over to the Lu Family."

"Did the Lu Family send you to the Lu Family to retrieve that thing?" Fatty asked curiously.

Lu Liangchuan shook his head. "No, it was my own idea. Something happened to my uncle. Sixth Granduncle said only the Soul Guiding Incantation could save him."

I frowned. "What exactly happened to your uncle?"
