Blind and Deaf

I stepped into empty air.

This is bad. I'm definitely going to tumble down the stairs.

But I soon realized that wasn't what was happening. I felt my whole body falling. This wasn't the sensation of falling down stairs, but the weightlessness of a direct plunge.

What was going on?

If Bingbing hadn't been on my back, I might have thought it was all an illusion. But her screams rang endlessly in my ears.

"Don't be afraid," I said softly. Only after hearing my voice did Bingbing stop screaming.

I knew she had to be terrified.

Actually, I was terrified too. This was the first time I had encountered something like this.

Everything around us was pitch-black as we kept falling, falling without end.

It felt as though we would never reach the bottom, as if we were plunging into a bottomless abyss.

"Jiang Xiaobai, I'm scared!" Bingbing cried.

"Don't be afraid. I'm here," I said.

Finally, the force of the fall gradually weakened, and I felt my feet touch the ground.

Since the falling force had weakened, my feet suffered no injury.

I came to a realization. The scene must have changed again, and this time Bingbing had been drawn into the change.

But I had no idea what kind of scene this would be.

"I've been here before!" I heard Bingbing say.

I froze. Though we had landed, I still couldn't see a thing.

"Put me down."

I let her down from my back, and I felt her immediately run forward.

I was stunned. When I came to my senses, I shouted, "Don't run around! I can't see anything right now!" This wasn't normal. Even in true darkness, my eyes could see clearly, yet Bingbing seemed able to see everything while I had become blind with my eyes
