Erha shot from my shoulder toward the second floor like a streak of white lightning.
I wasn't worried that anything would happen to it.
What a joke. It was Di Ting, the divine beast at that Bodhisattva's side.
Even a whole building full of filthy things wouldn't be able to harm it. They would probably tremble in fear at the sight of it.
Erha returned in less than a minute.
"There's a corpse upstairs. A woman. She died not long ago, probably just a few hours."
I frowned. A woman's corpse, dead only a few hours... Could it be Yangjin? But that wasn't right. Yangjin and I had been here for less than an hour altogether. How could she have died here several hours ago?
Maybe it wasn't her.
I felt I should still go up and take a look.
Erha said, "No need to go through all that trouble. I can let you see what I saw." It placed a paw directly on my head. "Close your eyes."
I closed my eyes as it instructed.
Sure enough, an image appeared in my mind. A woman lay on a bed upstairs. Judging by what she wore, she looked like a bride awaiting marriage. When I saw her face clearly, I was genuinely startled. If it wasn't Yangjin, then who was it? Only, she looked much younger than Yangjin.
Just like Yangjin in her youth.
"You know this woman?"
I gave a bitter smile. "I don't know if it's really her."
So I briefly explained what had happened. Erha was just as baffled after hearing it.
"Let's go. Go back to the village you mentioned and take a look," Erha said.
I shook my head. Since we had found "Yangjin's" corpse, I should at least bury her, or take her back
