Then, as though startled awake from a dream, he raised a hand to touch the cheek Dada Wa had struck and looked at us with a strange expression.
His gaze finally settled on me. "Master, wh-what's going on?"
I said calmly, "You should be asking yourself that. All we saw was you standing here alone, beaming and dancing around. Heaven knows what was wrong with you."
His expression immediately became awkward, and he lowered his head.
Little Dawa asked, "Speak. What exactly were you doing just now?"
He hesitated over whether to tell us. Only when he noticed me staring directly at him did he timidly say, "I dreamed that I was with many women. We were dancing and singing, and the place we were in was like New Year's in our Tibetan region."
He really had been hallucinating.
