Tatsumi suppressed the urge to vomit as he looked at the mangled corpses and said shakily, "Mr. Xiao Zhen, we only trespassed. There was no need to kill anyone, was there?"
Xiao Zhen patted the boy on the shoulder and said with an eerie smile, "Come on. I'll show you something."
The two soon arrived outside a large warehouse. Looking at the door that had yet to be locked, Xiao Zhen gave Tatsumi a light push from behind.
"Go take a look. Your friends are inside. You're not too late—both of them are still breathing."
Sensing that something was terribly wrong, Tatsumi rushed to the door and pushed open the barely closed entrance.
A horrifying sight greeted him. Corpses lay everywhere, their deaths gruesome enough to rival the mutilated body parts he had seen earlier.
"Hohoho, what excellent results. I never expected that combining cold poison and heat poison would make human skin rot so quickly. I must record all of this."
A somewhat deranged voice came from nearby. Tatsumi saw a woman writing something outside one of the cells, with all sorts of bottles and jars scattered across the floor. His instincts told him that whatever was inside them was definitely not good.
A faintly familiar, pained groan reached his ears, and Tatsumi quickly realized it belonged to one of his missing companions.
"That's Ieyasu's voice. He's here too!"
