The entire truck was packed full of valuable materials, and they had only been out for a few short days.
In the past, not counting preparation time, a single hunting trip would take anywhere from half a month to a month.
Sometimes they would come back empty-handed, unwilling to return, and would stay out even longer.
Now, after only a few days, they had reaped a full haul. They were more excited than ever before.
On the way back, all they talked about was Chen Feng. Bearded Uncle, Zhang Yang, Tao Min, and Zhu Tao all looked at Chen Feng with respect—the respect reserved for the strong—as well as gratitude.
Aside from admiration, Zhu Tao's gaze held nothing but a sigh. She knew that compared to Chen Feng, she simply could not measure up. The gap between them was far too great.
"Now let's head to the selling point and sell all of this!"
Bearded Uncle had Zhu Tao drive the truck to a purchasing station not far from the Hunting Hall.
There were many purchasing stations here, and quite a few people as well. Trucks were parked everywhere, and hunters returning from nearby areas would sell their goods here.
Many teams had gathered there. Some were overjoyed, while others seemed indifferent, even somewhat disappointed. Every team had different gains.
Some teams were extremely dejected. Their teammates had been injured in the hunting grounds, and some had been carried off by demonic beasts, never to be found again. They knew those people most likely would not return. Once someone was carried away by a demonic beast and separated from the team, there was only one possible outcome: death.
Money was not so easy to earn.
Bearded Uncle and the others' truck arrived as well. At the selling station they had chosen, the person in charge of purchasing would come over to negotiate.
Countless truckloads of materials were sold here. The merchants would sort the goods and send them to customers with different needs. Demonic beast horns, for example, could be used to forge weapons; fur could be made into clothing or decorations; even demonic beast organs had nourishing effects. They all served the entire human society and met different demands.
Demonic beast blood could also be preserved and sent to pharmaceutical processing plants, where it would be refined into blood essence and combined with other materials to produce Nutrient Fluid and the like.
In short, many parts of a demonic beast were worth money.
The human race had at least tens of billions of people. Though these goods looked plentiful, demand still far exceeded supply.
"Old Zhu, selling goods again? How much did you get this time?"
Bearded Uncle and the others got out of the truck together, with Chen Feng following behind. As he watched people coming and going around them, a voice sounded from nearby. Someone who seemed familiar with Bearded Uncle greeted him.
It was a man, also a captain, with several teammates beside him. They had just gotten out of a vehicle as well, and someone had already begun taking inventory of their goods.
A great many things were unloaded from the truck, a dazzling array that clearly showed they had returned with a full haul.
The entire team was ecstatic.
"Captain Zhang, you got quite a haul this time."
Bearded Uncle looked at the goods being unloaded across from them. There was a large pile, and some of the materials were quite good.
Captain Zhang smiled. "Not bad. This time, we recruited an expert who was about to reach the Essence Gathering stage. He was nimble and skilled, and we happened to encounter a relatively precious demonic beast that traveled alone—the Five-Colored Spider. We got some spider silk from it. That silk was the biggest gain from this trip. It should be worth two hundred thousand by itself. Adding everything else, this was one of our best runs yet. We made seven hundred thousand."
Captain Zhang said this with a chuckle, not as a boast. This kind of exchange was perfectly normal between them.
They had been lucky this time. They had recruited a powerful teammate and encountered a rare spider, so they earned quite a lot. After deducting other expenses, each of the five teammates could receive at least one hundred thousand.
One hundred thousand was an amount ordinary people might not be able to save even after working for years.
If these martial artists lacked money, they only needed to work harder and hunt demonic beasts frequently over a long period. That way, they would have money.
"Old Zhu!"
Before long, a merchant came over and began checking the goods.
This was Boss Mi, whom they had discussed beforehand. The plump boss knew Bearded Uncle.
"Chen Feng, this is Boss Mi. We've worked with him for many years, and he's a good man. We'll sell our goods to Boss Mi this time. What do you think?"
Bearded Uncle looked at Chen Feng. The other teammates looked at him as well. After all, Chen Feng had contributed enormously to these spoils. Without him, how could they possibly have so many goods?
In the past, Bearded Uncle had made such decisions himself. Now, he wanted to ask Chen Feng.
"This? Just listen to Uncle."
Chen Feng smiled. There was no need to ask him about this. Even if they asked, it would be pointless. Chen Feng did not understand such matters either.
"Alright."
Bearded Uncle nodded.
Boss Mi and Old Zhang beside him were somewhat puzzled. Old Zhu had never acted like this before. This young man was one of their newly recruited members, right? Yet he seemed to hold quite a high status.
Now, their attention shifted to the goods.
The various teams would check out each other's goods. After all, they wanted to compare their respective gains and see who had more or less. If another team had many hunting materials, they would ask how they had managed to hunt so many demonic beasts in the Fierce Beast Mountain Range. Some of it was due to strength, but some of it came down to the team's experience.
For example, they might know of areas where demonic beasts had valuable materials but were not particularly difficult to kill.
If they could find such fierce beasts, there would not be much danger, and they could make a steady profit. It was a good deal. Of course, whether the other party was willing to share such information depended on their mood.
Still, if their relationship was good, it did not matter much even if they shared it. The Fierce Beast Mountain Range was vast, and long-term benefits still depended on one's own strength.
"We got a lot this time too, all thanks to this little brother. Otherwise, we wouldn't have so many goods!"
When the boss asked, Bearded Uncle glanced at Chen Feng. Boss Mi and Old Zhang looked at Chen Feng in surprise. He looked so young.
"Haha, such a young lad, not bad at all. Back when I was his age, I was still in school. Yet he's already come out to hunt with you at this age. That takes courage!"
Old Zhang nodded, and Boss Mi smiled as well. Anyone who went out with Old Zhu's team would surely gain valuable experience. Having such experiences at this age would be highly beneficial to his future growth.
"Alright, Old Zhu, open the doors. I'll have a few of my men take inventory of your goods."
Boss Mi said with a smile.
"Mm."
Bearded Uncle walked over and opened the truck doors. Several of Boss Mi's workers came over.
A few of Old Zhang's teammates also came over to see what good things Bearded Uncle had gotten this time.
When the doors opened, Boss Mi took a sniff, and his expression changed in surprise. "What a strong smell. There are actually so many goods piled up inside. Old Zhu, you really came back fully loaded this time! Let me see... Hm? This is Red-eyed Wolf fur, and there's so much of it?"
