"Zzzzt—" Golden light flickered in the disciples' eyes as Master The Ancient One, clad in a golden robe, stepped out of a Teleportation Portal.

"Master." Master Mordo approached to greet her.

Master The Ancient One looked up at the sky. "A guest is coming."

Master Mordo raised his head as well, hearing a rumbling grow closer from afar. A figure streaked through the air toward them.

It arrived in an instant, showing no sign of slowing—in fact, it accelerated.

Master Mordo frowned, glancing at Master The Ancient One, who gave no instruction. He stepped forward and cast a spell with both hands.

A massive circular magical shield erupted into existence, nearly covering half the training ground.

The Seraphim Shield—reputed to be the strongest defensive magic!

In Avengers 3, when Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Doctor Strange crash-landed on Titan, Doctor Strange had used this very spell.

Seeing the enormous magical shield appear, Su Quan curled his lips slightly. He dove fast and drove his fist straight into the center of the shield.

"Crack, crack, crack—Boom!"

The Seraphim Shield, hailed as the ultimate defense, shattered inch by inch under Su Quan's punch and exploded into fragments.

The sheer impact sent Master Mordo stumbling back several steps. Nearby disciples were knocked off balance, screaming in alarm.

"Ding!"

"Combat detected. Dropped reward: Soul Out (Master Mordo)."

Backlit by the sun, Su Quan descended slowly. If a red cape had billowed behind him in the wind, he would have been—One-Punch Man!

The man who shattered the strongest defensive magic, the Seraphim Shield, with one punch.

No argument there.

"Greetings, Lord of the Void." Master The Ancient One smiled faintly and gave Su Quan a slight nod.

Su Quan raised an eyebrow. "Impressive, Sorcerer Supreme. I'm curious what else you know—for instance, whether I'll leave satisfied."

Master The Ancient One smiled in return. "I hope I can meet your expectations. Shall we change locations?"

"Fine."

Su Quan agreed. Master The Ancient One swept her arm, and in an instant, countless diamond-shaped mirrors enveloped them both.

Dimensional Mirror!

Inside the Mirror Dimension, the prompt for a dropped reward echoed in Su Quan's mind again.

"Ding!"

"Combat detected. Dropped reward: Dimensional Mirror (Master The Ancient One)."

"This is way more practical than Soul Out."

Su Quan twisted his hands. The surrounding buildings—no, more precisely, the ground around him—rose rapidly.

In moments, the arched earth and structures on both sides fused seamlessly together, blotting out the sky and forming a semi-enclosed space.

Master The Ancient One clasped her hands behind her back, a look of surprise on her face. That made Su Quan wonder just what she knew.

She knew he was the Lord of the Void. She knew he had come to fight.

But did she know his real goal was to obtain the method to Manipulate Time with the Time Stone?

Did she know he could easily acquire others' abilities?

Fighting—Su Quan wasn't afraid.

Even though Master The Ancient One wielded an endless arsenal of powerful magic, as long as he had Dimensional Teleportation and a knockoff of One-Punch Man's power, he was practically unbeatable.

Not to mention he could gain her abilities through combat.

The more he fought, the stronger he became.

What truly troubled him—what made him uneasy—was Master The Ancient One's ability to perceive the future. Not knowing what she knew was an irritating feeling.

Maybe it was like repels like.

"Dimensional Mirror—did you learn it from a mage pruned from the Void?" Master The Ancient One asked curiously.

Su Quan smirked. "From you."

"Me?" Master The Ancient One frowned and shook her head slightly. "Impossible. Everything I've done is the most correct choice among countless futures. I—could never appear in the Void."

Hearing that, Su Quan relaxed and smiled.

Master The Ancient One knew about the multiverse. Thanks to the Time Stone and time magic, she was practically an expert on the subject.

So she knew about the Void. She knew he would become the Lord of the Void. None of that surprised Su Quan.

What surprised him was that the Sorcerer Supreme, Master The Ancient One, didn't seem fully aware of the Time Variance Authority. And—

The "most correct choice among countless futures" she mentioned was likely the script laid out by the Sacred Timeline.

Just like when Doctor Strange explored the future and found only one way to defeat Thanos.

But was that really the case?

There might have been many ways to defeat Thanos, but none of them were the predetermined "outcome" of the Sacred Timeline.

So those futures, those possibilities, all failed—because they were pruned by the Time Variance Authority!

Why was Master The Ancient One killed by Kaecilius?

Because she "saw" Doctor Strange's potential, "saw" that he was the best successor.

Only if she died could Doctor Strange grow quickly and take on the responsibility of Sorcerer Supreme.

She might have known long ago that Kaecilius would betray her, but because this was the best outcome, she didn't stop him.

Otherwise, with Master The Ancient One's power, how could Kaecilius have escaped from Kamar-Taj?

After all, Kaecilius didn't leave alone—he had plenty of followers with him.

If Master The Ancient One couldn't detect such a big commotion, how could she defend against the Multiverse or protect the damn Earth?

So Master The Ancient One's fate was also "controlled," but she accepted this "outcome" and chose to go along with it.

Master The Ancient One was so powerful, yet her fate was still controlled by "mortals" like the Time Variance Authority and The Variant—at first glance, it seems absurd.

After all, the Time Variance Authority is full of ordinary people, and The Variant was stabbed to death by Female Loki Sylvie.

And Master The Ancient One's strength doesn't need much elaboration.

To put it bluntly, it's still because Master The Ancient One wasn't strong enough.

Countless Parallel Universes and timelines have countless versions of Master The Ancient One. Though they could touch the Multiverse, they couldn't reach its core!

In contrast, The Variant—a variant of Kang the Conqueror—triggered the Multiverse War long ago, emerged victorious, merged the timelines of the Multiverse, and controlled it through the Sacred Timeline.

Though he had a mortal body, he was one of the core lives of the Multiverse.

Core Life is the foundation of the Multiverse, extremely rare, with the power to influence the Multiverse in significant ways.

According to The Watcher, there are four cores: Chesnigg, Merlin the Wizard, Kang the Conqueror, and Scarlet Witch.

Just look at Kang the Conqueror and Scarlet Witch—one ruled the Multiverse, the other broke its rule.

That shows what Core Life is capable of.

Though it's said that Female Loki Sylvie killed The Variant, stabbing him and unleashing the Multiverse, in reality, before she killed him, the Multiverse had already changed, and the cycle of the Sacred Timeline had already been broken.

And that moment was exactly when Wanda formally became Scarlet Witch and began practicing dark magic—down to the second!

Su Quan wasn't sure whether Female Loki Sylvie or Scarlet Witch Wanda had opened the Multiverse.

It could even have been Doctor Strange, who cast a spell to make the world forget Spider-Man's true identity.

But one thing he was certain of: Master The Ancient One probably knew less than he did.

After all, the futures Master The Ancient One could see were at most the futures The Variant could see.

And he could see futures that even The Variant couldn't!

If Master The Ancient One knew she would become the Lord of the Void in the future, it was likely because she had detected others and incidentally learned about the Void and her own identity.

If she could directly probe the Void, she wouldn't have been so surprised at the possibility of being pruned and ending up there.

"You've been to the Void?" Su Quan asked with a smile.

Master The Ancient One shook her head.

"Then how can you be sure you haven't been pruned by the Time Variance Authority?"

"The Time Variance Authority... so that's what it's called."
