Think about it—this one game, over and over, I've played it hundreds of times across the years.

I'm not tired of it; I'm just looking for an opponent.

A thousand years ago, I faced the floods like the ancient Egyptians.

A thousand years ago, I caressed bronze vessels like the Babylonians.

A thousand years ago, I pondered philosophy like the Greeks.

A thousand years ago, I waged wars everywhere like the Romans.

A thousand years ago, I was as wealthy as the Arabs.

And now, I'm competing with the Americans.

For millennia, I've been in this world.

At the chessboard, my opponents have changed several rounds already.

You ask who I am?

Su Quan returned the book to White Queen with a meaningful look, then turned his gaze to the focused Reed Richards and Benjamin.

"How's it going?"

"Should have results soon."

No sooner had White Queen spoken.

Benjamin, who had been so quiet he barely dared to breathe, suddenly shoved Reed Richards excitedly and shouted wildly.

"It's on! It's on! It's lighting up! Reed, we did it! We did it!"

The display on the Time Controller lit up.

Reed Richards curled the corner of his mouth slightly as he packed the Time Controller away, forcing a calm tone.

"Don't get too excited yet. We're only successful if it passes the tests."

"It'll definitely pass."

Benjamin swore confidently, then suddenly noticed Su Quan appear out of nowhere. "You—when did you get here?"

"Right when you were shouting 'it's green, it's green.'"

"I clearly shouted 'it's on, it's on,' not 'it's green, it's green,'" Benjamin explained indignantly.

"Yeah, it's pretty shiny."

Su Quan stared at his gleaming bald head and said with a straight face, "Hard work. Wash your head later—it's getting oily."

"Life may have done you dirty, but you've got the vibe locked down. You went bald, and you got stronger—"

"What the hell is that? Let me tell you, don't think just because you're rich you're something special."

Benjamin was a bit blunt and a bit dense, but he wasn't stupid—he could tell Su Quan was teasing him.

"Sorry, being rich really is something special. Being rich really lets you do whatever you want."

Su Quan crooked his finger, and the zipper on his backpack opened automatically, a diamond ring floating out.

"For you. You can use it to propose when you get a girlfriend."

Benjamin stared dumbfounded, and Reed Richards, who had just finished installing the Time Controller, was equally wide-eyed with shock.

Even White Queen looked surprised.

"Why are you all staring at me? I can pull out a Time Controller—having superpowers is pretty reasonable, right?"

The Time Controller could still be explained by science. Superpowers?

You tell me, is that scientific?

Does that make sense?

If only Reed Richards and Benjamin hadn't yet encountered the Solar Storm to become Mr. Fantastic and The Thing, they'd definitely think it made sense—damn straight it did!

Reed Richards' skill was undeniable. Su Quan fiddled with the repaired Time Controller for a bit.

A rectangular golden teleportation portal instantly unfolded before everyone's eyes.

Obviously, this was a door that could lead to other timelines or parallel worlds.

"Shwoosh—"

Su Quan canceled the Time Teleportation Portal and looked at the Electronic Collar on the lab table.

"Is it usable now?"

Reed Richards hesitated slightly, sounding uncertain.

"It should be."

"Good."

Su Quan nodded slightly.

"Snap!"

At almost the same moment, the Electronic Collar that had been on the lab table was now locked around Benjamin's neck.

Benjamin froze for a few seconds, then realized what Su Quan was about to do. He lunged forward angrily, trying to snatch the Controller.

A faint smile curling at his lips, Su Quan gently manipulated the Controller.

"Shwoosh—"

In an instant, Benjamin, who had already charged over, was back in his original spot.

Benjamin blinked, then charged again.

"Shwoosh—"

He was back where he started.

Benjamin's eyes went wide. He grabbed the collar with both hands, trying to rip it off by force, but Su Quan's next operation made him start flickering rapidly in place.

"Shwoosh-shwoosh-shwoosh—shwoosh-shwoosh-shwoosh—"

Endless, uninterrupted rapid flickering left Benjamin unable to take any action at all. He could only watch helplessly as he kept appearing and reappearing in the same spot.

For a specific reference, think of the Main Timeline Loki and the Time Guard B-15 from Loki's solo series.

Reed Richards couldn't bear to watch and was about to plead for mercy, but Su Quan suddenly released the collar from Benjamin's neck, waved his hand to recall it, and slipped it into his pants pocket.

"The basic functions are fine. You did well."

Su Quan patted Reed Richards on the shoulder with a straight face, showing no sign of having deliberately toyed with Benjamin.

"Interested in working for me long-term?"

"A Sky Carrier, interstellar Spaceships, Alien Technology—none of these exist or are accessible in this world. Work for me, and you can personally restore these treasures that any ambitious scientist would dream of!"

Reed Richards hesitated, about to speak, but Su Quan continued his persuasion.

"I remember your dream is to observe Solar Rays and use their data to crack the secrets of Human Genetic Inheritance."

"I just told you—I have interstellar Spaceships, the Alien Technology kind!"

"One year!"

"Work for me for just one year, and I'll fund your trip into space to fulfill your dream."

Reed Richards opened his mouth, then instinctively glanced at his friend, who was clearly angry but staying quiet.

Benjamin knew how important that dream was to him.

Besides, despite his bluster and apparent disregard for Su Quan, he was well aware that without any non-disclosure agreement signed, the consequences of refusing the invitation might not be pleasant—

Reed Richards also knew that Su Quan's identity and background were questionable, and that agreeing or refusing the invitation might bring trouble either way. But the terms Su Quan offered were far too tempting.

Interstellar Spaceships, Alien Technology, funding to go into space and observe Solar Storms—every single one was something a scientist who dedicated his life to science could never refuse!

"I... I accept."

"A wise choice!"

Su Quan told Reed Richards and Benjamin to wrap up their school and personal affairs as quickly as possible, and also had Reed Richards draw up a list of equipment.
