Su Quan tested Doctor Reyes’s abilities, questioned her loyalty to Essex Corporation, and searched the world for Mr. Sinister and the Red Queen. He found promising mutants to recruit and learned of a dormant Mr. Sinister clone, but chose not to act on the lead yet.

• Su Quan used space manipulation to nullify Doctor Reyes’s energy field and explained that he had come to the sanatorium because he wanted to reach Nathaniel Essex.
• Doctor Reyes challenged Su Quan’s flirting and avoided answering whether she had joined Essex Corporation voluntarily.

Su Quan discovered that Moonstar’s returning psionic power created terrifying illusions that affected the other mutants at the asylum. As the visions spread, Doctor Reyes confronted the danger and Su Quan warned her he would not stay much longer; Moonstar then woke to a nightmare of a huge, red-eyed shadow looming over her.

• Su Quan’s psychic defenses blocked Moonstar’s illusion, while Cannonball was drawn into a mine vision and smashed into a washing machine.

• Laura told Su Quan that she wanted to rescue her mother from a life that would repeat whenever her world rebooted, and he warned that Sally would not be able to return.

The chapter ended with Joseph and the other mutants arriving at the laboratory to confront Su Quan, Sally, and Laura.

• Su Quan expanded Takashi Matsuya’s Weakening Aura across the laboratory, weakening Frenzy and Boulder and helping Sally and Laura defeat them.
• Takashi Matsuya refused to work for Su Quan, so Su Quan killed him and used the ability-modified Void Battle Bead to connect Friday to a computer.
• Friday located 221 Essex Corporation laboratories and warned that Essex had exposed Su Quan’s identity and dispatched its strongest mutants.

Su Quan recruited Laura Kinney and Kiden Nikos after the Essex Corporation team was defeated, then resurrected the Ultimate Sentinel and gained her allegiance. With Essex Corporation’s three powerful operatives now on his side, he prepared to retaliate against Mr. Sinister and destroy the corporation.

• Security guards and mutants surrounded the arrivals, but Su Quan gave his allies the Dionysus Factor and froze the energy field trapping them.

• Su Quan broke into Madelyne Pryor’s room and told her he had come for her, claiming they were destined to meet.
• Madelyne told Su Quan that Mr. Sinister had kept her confined to the floor and forbidden her from using her abilities to sense the outside world.
• Su Quan offered to take Madelyne away, and she began reaching for his hand despite her fear of upsetting Mr. Sinister.

Su Quan defeated Mr. Sinister, destroyed his clones, and left him as a head for Madelyne Pryor to keep. After ending the battle at Essex Corporation, Su Quan ordered Friday to expose the company’s secrets, preserve its gene and clone technology, and locate Chen Susannie.

• Su Quan admitted he had deliberately left Mr. Sinister’s head intact, destroyed his clones with the Chaos Force, and gave his head to Madelyne Pryor.

• Kiden Nikos told Su Quan that she had killed Chen Susannie, and Friday exposed Essex Corporation’s dark side.

• Su Quan interrupted Shingen Yashida, claimed Mariko Yashida, and sent her through Blink’s portal.
• Su Quan told Shingen Yashida and Wolverine to begin their fight, revealing that Wolverine’s self-healing had been suppressed.
• Shingen Yashida sent his samurai against Wolverine, who killed many despite suffering wounds that did not heal.
• Wolverine confronted Shingen inside the Silver Samurai Armor and struggled to break through its adamantium defenses.
