Everyone's attention was drawn by the attendant's voice, and they all looked toward the two vacant seats at the front.
A towering figure slowly emerged from the hall. A brilliant golden path spread out before him. With every step he took, ripples like water spread through space, while laws transformed into swimming fish that circled and leaped around his feet.
A layer of golden radiance shrouded his body, illuminating the entire imperial garden as brightly as day. Wherever the golden light fell, it felt as though they were basking in the morning sun, their whole bodies warm and comfortable.
Behind him, an old man clad in coarse hemp robes rode closely after him on a ten-foot-tall sika deer. His beard and hair were entirely white, his long brows hanging to the ground. A fly-whisk emitting pure white spiritual radiance rested over his forearm, its silver threads drifting in the wind.
The sika deer's hooves struck the black-jade floor tiles with crisp "tap tap tap" sounds. Wherever it passed, weeds grew madly from between the cracks, blooming into gorgeous flowers. It was extraordinarily miraculous.
In the blink of an eye, the two had reached the very front of the banquet.
The golden radiance gradually faded, revealing the newcomer's true appearance. He wore a jade crown, while an unfathomable aura veiled his face, making his features impossible to discern.
He wore a heavy black ceremonial robe embroidered with the Sun, Moon, and Stars, splendid Mountains and Rivers, birds, insects, and fish. A three-foot sword hung at his waist.
He seemed to have fused with the heavens and earth around him. His aura was as deep as an abyss, unfathomable.
There was not the slightest fluctuation of dharma power around the long-browed
