Happy New Year 2025
Happy New Year, everyone!
First, I'd like to take a day off. I've been moving recently, and I'm honestly exhausted. I want to slack off for a day and get some rest.
While I'm at it, I'd also like to speak from the heart with all of you.
Now that we've entered 2025, two years have unknowingly passed since I started writing this book in 2023.
Two years...
It feels like a long time has passed, yet it also feels like it went by in the blink of an eye.
I still remember that sleepless night when I was waiting for the editor to review my manuscript. It feels like yesterday.
As of January 1, 2025, "The Unscientific Detective in Detective Conan" has reached 2.9 million words—nearly three million words.
When I first started writing this book, I never imagined it would become this long.
It was merely a sudden flash of inspiration late at night that led me to write it. Naturally, there were many unsatisfactory parts, and naturally, its results were never especially high.
Still, this was indeed the most successful book I had ever written. It was also my first book to surpass one million words, two million words, and three million words.
Sometimes, I wondered whether it would have been better if I'd made more preparations.
But life is like this. Some things suddenly appear without warning, beyond your expectations, just as you never know what tomorrow will bring.
And there is no chance to start over.
Over these past two years, there were actually several times when I wanted to stop like this and call it quits.
Because I was tired...
Really tired.
Especially as the word count grew, that feeling became increasingly severe and profound. It spread through my entire
