Conan ranted furiously in his head. Then he pulled out the bottom of the water bottle and showed it to everyone. "What are you all talking about? Can you be serious for once?!"
"I'm looking for crucial evidence!"
"Crucial evidence?"
"A water bottle?"
"How is that crucial evidence...?"
The kids looked at Conan in confusion. They simply could not understand what a water bottle had to do with evidence.
Conan felt exhausted just looking at them. "I'm saying she bought the knife to cut open this bottle!"
"Oh..."
"We originally thought it was for an art assignment, but Brother Fujino asked about it, so we can rule that out."
"And she drank all the beverage right away, too."
"If you think about it that way, she must have wanted to cut open the empty bottle!"
"Brother Fujino asked because he had thought of that, right?"
"As expected of Brother Fujino!"
"He must have been trying to remind us!"
"No wonder Conan figured it out right away. If we thought carefully, we could have figured it out too!"
The kids first discussed their thoughts, then began chattering away with their deductions, all of them looking at Fujino with admiration.
Conan was left completely dumbfounded.
What the heck? I found this! How did it all turn into Fujino reminding everyone?!
It was one thing when you guys stole my credit all the time, but now you're grafting my achievement onto someone else?!
Conan complained inwardly, the corner of his eye twitching.
He wanted to simply give up his spot and say, "Fine, you do it, then!"
But he was afraid that if Fujino stepped up, he actually would be able to do it.
Then it really would all become Fujino's incredible work...
Left with no choice, he could only continue his deduction.
