"Isn't that obvious? I thought you'd be able to figure it out."
"Or are you putting on an act with me too?"
Fujino merely shrugged. He did not type a reply, feeling that Vermouth, this Old Auntie, had asked a completely unnecessary question.
Could an Old Auntie as clever as her really fail to understand something like this?
And what if she had not figured it out?
Fujino suspected that Old Auntie might be trying to use his hand to get rid of Shuichi Akai.
If that was the case, then Old Auntie was courting death.
Vermouth did not reply to Fujino. She merely lowered her eyes in thought for a moment before her fingers quickly tapped across the keyboard. "Kir and Shuichi Akai had already discussed their strategy. Getting released from the hospital was meant to let Kir return to the Organization."
"Going by what you said, they probably anticipated that BOSS would suspect Kir as well."
"If that's the case, then Kir will successfully kill Shuichi Akai... To earn the Organization's trust for Kir, Shuichi Akai has to die. That means the death of 'Shuichi Akai' is necessary."
"But Kir definitely won't kill Shuichi Akai, since she's an NOC..." She frowned. "Could they be planning to fool us with a fake death?"
Fujino looked at her message and nodded. "Correct."
Vermouth was filled with confusion. "But even if Shuichi Akai understood the Organization's methods, there was no way he could be one hundred percent certain that the Organization would send Kir afterward..."
Fujino remained calm. "They didn't need certainty. They only needed a backup plan. If the FBI couldn't think of it, could their little assistant not think of it?"
At the mention of the little assistant, Vermouth immediately understood.
Her godson had definitely caused trouble again...
Well,
