Amuro Tooru was taken aback by the words and could not help feeling surprised.
He immediately recognized who the voice belonged to.
It was none other than Fujino, the High School Detective he had observed before.
"Recognize me?"
Fujino teased, "But I really didn't expect us to meet again in this way."
"I didn't expect to run into you here either."
Amuro Tooru kept his usual expression and forced out a smile. "But Detective Fujino, how did you end up looking like this? I didn't recognize you at all."
"It's just a disguise."
Fujino chuckled and tugged at the skin on his face. "After all, I'm somewhat well-known now. It wouldn't be good if someone recognized me while I was on a job."
"Detective Fujino truly deserves to be called a Great Detective. You're certainly meticulous."
Amuro Tooru smiled as he praised him, though thoughts raced through his mind.
A disguise?
As far as he knew, fewer than ten people possessed such disguising skills. Within the organization, only that woman had mastered such terrifying techniques.
This method of applying facial skin was also very similar to that woman's.
Could these two be connected somehow?
Probably not.
Fujino quietly watched the fleeting contemplative look in Amuro Tooru's eyes. He knew exactly what the man was wondering about.
Vermouth had learned her Disguise Art from Kuroba Toichi, while Kuroba Kaito had inherited his Disguise Art from Kuroba Toichi.
They came from the same source, so it was hard to say who was better.
It was only natural for Tooru to be suspicious.
Fujino had no intention of explaining anything. He would let Tooru figure it out himself. He probably would not uncover the truth even if he racked his brains.
Still, given his intelligence-gathering abilities, he should soon discover Kuroba Toichi's connection
