Background / History

Shiho Miyano was held at Aoyama Bio-pharmaceutical Factory, where she worked among experimental equipment and retained a photograph of her sister, Akemi. Even from several kilometres away, she sensed Fujino observing her through his glasses, demonstrating an unusually acute intuition 96.

She was one of the researchers connected to APTX4869, though she later stressed that she had not worked on the drug alone. After defecting from the Black Organization and taking the same drug, she shrank into a child. The Organization destroyed the pharmaceutical company and its research facilities on the night of her escape, leaving her unable to access most of the data herself 142 153.

Exhausted and frightened after escaping, she initially resigned herself to dying in the rain rather than endanger anyone else. Fujino found her and took her in; an antipyretic injection he administered briefly restored her adult body as Shiho Miyano 138 139.

After revealing that she knew Kudo Shinichi had also shrunk, she arranged to stay with Professor Agasa under the cover story that he was her only surviving relative.
