If her chances of being killed had only been sixty percent before,
then now they were... well, ninety-nine percent.
The remaining one percent was her killing them instead, or the culprit accidentally killing himself.
The atmosphere instantly turned awkward, and everyone went their separate ways on a sour note.
Mrs. Seiei chose to go to the kitchen to cook, while Hoshikawa Dougo and Himeomiya Tenshi decided to look around the house. Fanda Riki headed to the lounge.
The girls went to the kitchen as well, enthusiastically helping Mrs. Seiei prepare dinner.
Watching them leave, Conan frowned. "The atmosphere feels a little off..."
"I think so too."
With his hands in his pockets, Hattori Heiji said, "It feels like they're hiding something."
"Maybe someone's about to get murdered..."
Fujino teased, "A crime of passion over some old grudge or something—aren't those the kinds of plots detective dramas always have?"
"Huh?"
Conan gave him a deadpan look. "Why are you so sure?"
Fujino said, "Detective's intuition."
Conan: "..."
Seriously, couldn't he come up with something else for once?
As Conan stood there speechless, Hattori Heiji, beside him, rubbed his chin. "Now that you mention it, I've got that feeling too."
"You too?"
Conan gave him another deadpan look and silently complained to himself:
You both have that feeling. Why don't I?
You're making this really awkward for me, you know?
"It looks like we're running out of seasoning..."
"Leave it to us!"
"Then I'll have to trouble you to keep an eye on the pot. I'll be right back!"
A burst of voices came from the kitchen. Immediately afterward, Seiei Manri emerged from the kitchen and hurried out of the house.
Kazuha followed her out of the kitchen and called to the three of them, "You guys, come help out too!"
"Huh?"
