I Don't Embezzle ≠ I Don't Hoard
The dinner party proceeded as scheduled.
Juzo Megure and Shiratori Ninzaburo left first, heading to the venue.
Meanwhile, Sato Miwako quietly followed behind Fujino.
As they walked down the corridor toward the banquet hall, her face was filled with thought. After staring at Fujino for quite a while, she could not help asking, "Fujino, you wouldn't happen to be hiding something from us, would you?"
"Hmm?"
Fujino glanced at her in confusion. Has Big Sister Sato, that fierce woman, learned mind-reading too?
No, wait, why did I say 'too'?
"I just feel like you've been acting a little strange," Sato Miwako explained. "Of course, it's just a feeling. It seems like you found something and didn't want to tell us..."
Having known each other for so long, Fujino was not surprised that Sato had noticed he was acting somewhat unusual. He lowered his voice. "I found a lot of bombs in the bottom of the ship."
"Bombs?!"
Sato Miwako cried out in surprise and hurriedly asked, "What happened to those bombs?"
Fujino crossed his arms and replied calmly, "They were just ordinary bombs. They weren't difficult for me at all, so I dismantled them with nail clippers."
"Uh... as expected of you."
Sato Miwako was already used to Fujino's habit of charging at bombs with a pair of Large Nail Clippers to dismantle them.
Then, with a hint of resentment in her voice, she asked, "Why didn't you tell us there were bombs on this ship? Why did you dismantle them all by yourself?"
"If I told you, would you still have let me dismantle them?" Fujino said helplessly. "Besides, if the police sent a bomb disposal team over, the ship would probably descend into chaos before they even got started."
