Wu Rong of the Hall of Myriad Judgments set down the jade slip dossier in his hand.
His gaze fell upon them.
They were Dun Yi and Venerable Fierce Interval, returning from their assignment abroad.

Venerable Fierce Interval gave a slight bow.
He was a senior elder. Even without holding an office in the Netherworld, there was no need for him to be excessively deferential.
The Nether Clan was cooperating with the Netherworld; otherwise, given his status, he would never have remained stationed here. Presumably, it was because he had personally acted that no other Great Dao Lords of his clan had shown their faces.

Luo Du Dao Lord, seated high above, casually took it and scanned it with divine sense.
Surprised, he said, "It seems the other party has quite the background."

As mana rippled, the great prison before them opened.
The shackled Featherfolk Hui opened his eyes, and a bright grand hall came into view.
At the end of the long steps stood a high seat shaped like a city wall.
Upon the golden throne sat a majestic young man in a deep-purple Dharma robe. Pale green divine eyes quietly shone, their radiance gathering at the corners like the tail of a comet.
"You look somewhat familiar," Featherfolk Hui said in surprise.
"Then take a good look," said the purple-robed youth
