Mel Gets Pounced On

After Mel called Liberia over, the three geniuses began examining Witch's Blood.

"Mel, it seems I'll have to visit the church and look through some relevant records." Guweiste looked slightly troubled. If not for the current Pope, she truly did not want to deal with the church.

"Please." Mel had intended this from the start, which was why he had brought it up.

Once that matter was settled, Mel learned magic below Level 90 from Clili, most importantly the Level 85 spell Supernova—a spell with unquestionable destructive power.

There was also Archmage Guweiste's True Damage spell, though Guweiste had named it Dragon Slayer.

However, after spending a day studying it carefully, Mel found that his mana purity was still insufficient to use True Damage magic. The spell demanded an extremely high level of mana purity and control.

Among them, Liberia was probably the only one capable of learning it.

When night fell, Freli held a welcoming banquet for Mel. Everyone drank quite a bit, and Mel returned to his room utterly drunk.

His nerves had not relaxed like this in a long time. Once drunk, he thought of nothing at all and simply walked into his room before falling face-first onto the bed.

Though it was already autumn, the southern climate remained hot. Fortunately, the room contained mana stones specifically used for cooling.

Before long, Mel's breathing grew even. His head felt especially heavy today, while his body was somewhat feverish.

The evening wind swept through the corridor, stirring the curtains of the empty room.

In the dark shadows, the door creaked open. Someone slipped quietly into the room, yet Mel noticed nothing.

The orange-red maiden gradually intertwined with the moonlight.
