Background / History

The Demon King ruled during the demon race's war against humanity. His army fought the major human powers across multiple fronts, invading Kren, contesting Gard's borders, and eroding Exar-controlled territories and islands 90. Unlike many predecessors who relied on direct conquest, he sought powerful allies and deliberately strengthened his army before advancing further into human lands 630 748.

After learning of the Apostles and the legacy of Carlos, the Unification King, he became interested in Carlos's ideas of unifying races and nations. This led him to question the demon race's assigned role as humanity's enemy and attempt to merge demons with humans, despite recognizing that widespread intermarriage could eventually erase pure-blooded demons 405 406.

He later learned that the demon race's emotions had been stripped away, and concluded that the Hero and Holy Sword were deliberately created to ensure the Demon King's destruction. He began searching for the source of the race's lost emotions while still preparing for the war against humanity 633.

Appearance

The Demon King appeared as a young, handsome demon with an unhealthy, corpse-like pallor.

Though his race lacked emotions, he remained highly sensitive to them in others. His investigation into Carlos's erased legacy, the demon race's condition, and the Holy Sword's purpose left him uncertain whether he was following an inevitable cycle or attempting to change it 406 633.

His actions were ultimately driven by the demon race's survival. He sought powerful subordinates not merely for conquest, but to resist a world he believed was hostile to demons and shaped by divine interference 630.

The Demon King released the Blood Demon and questioned him about the Apostles, the Sword Apostle, and Carlos's historical ambitions. Inspired by Carlos's ideas but distrustful of their disappearance from history, he began seeking a path beyond simple demon-human extermination 405 406.

Formation of the Eight Generals

To counter powers such as the Red Dragon, he sought increasingly dangerous allies. He subdued Kraken, recovered the Primal Witch from the ocean trench, recruited the Lich King, and revived a Bone Dragon to fill major positions in his army 630 632 633 663.

Invasion of Gard

The Demon King personally entered Gard territory alongside the Blood Priest. Kiriri's strongest Light Magic severely wounded him, but could not overcome his total magic immunity; he withdrew after the battle 741.

Battle with Mel

When Mel attacked Demon King Island, the Demon King effortlessly negated [Dragon Extinguishing] and ordered his generals to capture him after Mel defeated the Bone Dragon 842 843.

Succession Experiment and Death

Already suffering from severe physical decline, the Demon King used Mel as the subject of an experiment. He extracted his own blood and infused it into Mel, judging Mel's body, magic power, soul, and vampire nature suitable for becoming the next Demon King 843.

His death immediately triggered the birth of a new Demon King rather than the usual ten-year interval. Mel inherited the title, bloodline authority, magic immunity, and command over demons 844.
