Neji froze for a few seconds, then turned around...
"Ah, Neji's here." Rock Lee's delighted voice rang out. He pointed at Neji and pulled Naruto along as they ran over.
Neji's steps came to an abrupt halt. He did not dare move again because he was not faster than Naruto. He could not outrun him. Once the first two options were thrown out, he realized the second option did not exist at all. It was a false proposition.
The only true proposition was that he was definitely getting beaten up.
Looking as though he had swallowed a dead fly, Neji turned around with difficulty. Staring at the excited pair, he fixed his gaze on his wonderful teammate, Rock Lee. "So you were the one who invited the em... Naruto here? I'm truly so happy." The smile on his face looked worse than crying.
Inside, he was cursing wildly. I wasn't even planning to set you up, yet you fucking set me up instead.
"How is it, Neji? Surprised? I knew you and Naruto were friends. You two haven't seen each other in so long. You must be very happy to see Naruto." Rock Lee wore an honest, simple expression.
Thank you so damn much, but this is a scare, not a surprise... However, Neji did not dare voice his true thoughts. If he did, Naruto might hit him even harder later.
"Thank you, Rock Lee," Neji said through gritted teeth.
"No need to thank me. It's what I should do.
