Blood-red lightning erupted from the bunker.

A figure flew out after it like a kite with its string cut.

With a dull thud, Diana crashed to the ground in a sorry state. The wounds on her face and blood at the corner of her lips showed that, after a fierce battle, she had ultimately been defeated by Ares the God of War.

Terrifying crimson lightning covered the bunker ruins. Bathed in electricity and clad in sinister Divine Armor, Ares strode toward her step by step, mocking, "Zeus had so many demigod children, yet they were all useless. Not one of them was worth a damn."

Half of Ares's bloodline came from King of the Gods Zeus, and the other half from Queen Hera. He was a god of the purest pedigree and had always looked down on his demigod brothers and sisters.

Though he had inherited some of the power of lightning, he had not inherited Zeus's prolific seed-sowing abilities. His eyes held nothing but war.

"Diana, I'll give you a chance to swear loyalty to me. When I establish my pantheon, I promise you the position of my second-in-command."

Ares's ambitions were immense. He did not merely want to rule a single planet; he wanted to spread war to every corner of the universe.

The divine power of war came from war itself. Wars filled the universe, and when that time came, he would be able to overturn everything with a flick of his fingers.

Such a grand ambition was far too difficult to accomplish alone, so he wanted to recruit some helpers.

Diana had only one thought in her heart: defeat Ares. How could she willingly fall and join the enemy?
