Background

Lin Bai was born as the eldest young master of the Lin Family of the Great Zhou Dynasty and the nominal future head of the family. He reached Qi Refining Early Stage at age eight, but his cultivation did not advance for the next ten years, making him a public laughingstock despite his prominent birth. At age twenty-five, he attended the Disciple Recruitment Assembly hoping to find a way forward. 6

Feng Qingyang identified Lin Bai as a Son of Destiny with an unactivated Azure Lotus Sword Body and recruited him into Azure Cloud Sect. The true cause of his stagnation was that his physique had been absorbing his spiritual energy without a compatible cultivation method. 5 6

Feng Qingyang later accepted Lin Bai as a direct disciple, activated the Azure Lotus Sword Body, and gave him the Azure Lotus Sword Art. Lin Bai immediately rose to Foundation Establishment Peak, while the Azure Lotus Divine Sword flew from the Ten Thousand Swords Tomb to recognize him as its master. 12
