Background / History

Queen Medusa first appears in the Tagore Desert while pursuing the Green Lotus Core Flame. She confronts Lu Yunxiao and Hai Bodong, overwhelms Hai Bodong, defeats Lu Yunxiao's two fifth-tier Spirit Pets, and nearly kills Lu Yunxiao. When Lu Yunxiao releases the Heavenly Flame against her, she is seriously injured by the backlash and retreats, swearing to take his life when they meet again 127 128 129.

Seeking to evolve beyond the limits of her Snake-person bloodline, Medusa later captures the Green Lotus Core Flame and prepares to use it in her evolution. Lu Yunxiao infiltrates Snake-people territory to recover the flame, but uses his knowledge of her evolution technique to negotiate for his life. He provides the mnemonic formula that substantially improves her chance of success, forming a cautious alliance with her 227 231 232 238 239.

Medusa undergoes the evolution in the Snake-people Royal City, transforming into a giant purple serpent before successfully becoming a Seven-Colored Sky Swallowing Python. Her consciousness later awakens again through the Python's recovered strength, allowing her to return to human form 245 327.

Her initially hostile relationship with Lu Yunxiao gradually becomes romantic. He names her Cai'er, and she ultimately acknowledges him as her husband before the Snake-people elders and commanders 333 385 562. She subsequently returns to rule her people directly, ordering the eight great tribes to assemble after revealing her survival and breakthrough to Dou Zong 553.
