A Punch and Shock
"Is that your punch? Too slow, too weak!" Lu Yuan sneered. "Are you a woman?"
"Brat, how dare you insult me?" Li Zhi's fury flared at Lu Yuan's words.
"Take my punch!" Being called a woman was more than Li Zhi could bear. He erupted on the spot, using all his strength without activating his Martial Soul.
Slap! With another casual flick, Lu Yuan effortlessly blocked Li Zhi's full-force punch.
"Looks like you're nothing special either!" Lu Yuan held his meal tray in his left hand while gripping Li Zhi's fist with his right.
"How is this possible?" Li Zhi could hardly believe that Lu Yuan had caught his fist. He tried to pull it back with all his strength, but it would not budge in the slightest!
"Off you go!" Lu Yuan lightly kicked Li Zhi in the chest, sending him flying several meters before he passed out on the spot.
The trainees in the cafeteria gasped at Lu Yuan's actions. The kid looked young, but his methods were remarkably ruthless.
"Li Zhi!" With a clatter, a chair was knocked aside.
"Kid, you're courting death!" A red-clad youth approached, followed by more than ten other youths. Clearly, he was the leader of the group.
"So you're that so-called Boss Qin that guy mentioned?" Lu Yuan gave a disdainful smile. "If you want to start something, do it yourself. Hiding off to the side and playing dirty tricks is nothing but the game of cowardly rats."
"Kid, you've got some nerve!" Qin Yuan laughed in anger.
"I've always had plenty of nerve!" Lu Yuan smiled. "Especially when it comes to certain rabid dogs—I like nothing more than beating them to death with one blow!" He was not an idiot. Li Zhi had only come to stir up trouble because Qin Yuan was pulling strings behind the scenes.
From a few things Yuan Xin had said, combined with his own deductions, Lu Yuan had long since figured out the cause of this incident. Naturally, he had no intention of being polite to Qin Yuan.
"You dare call me a rabid dog?" Qin Yuan was furious. His Martial Soul was the Purgatory Demon Wolf, and what he hated most was being called a dog.
"I never said that. You're the one who decided it applied to you!" Lu Yuan spread his hands, indicating that it had nothing to do with him.
"Little bastard, you're dead!" Qin Yuan clenched his fists and suddenly attacked.
A punch tore through the air with a fierce gust of wind!
No one had expected Qin Yuan to attack first.
Quite a few people broke out in cold sweat for Lu Yuan. Qin Yuan was one of the top three experts in the Training Camp. Lu Yuan had just arrived and would likely suffer badly.
"Heh!" Lu Yuan chuckled and threw a punch as well.
Amid the pitying looks of those around them, the two fists collided.
Bang! The clashing fists rang out with a crisp crack.
Step, step, step! Lu Yuan took three steps back before steadying himself. He had only used half his strength in that punch, yet Qin Yuan's power was stronger than he had expected. Caught off guard, he had actually been forced back three steps.
Qin Yuan, however, staggered back seven steps in a row before stabilizing himself. His tightly clenched fist and grim expression revealed how difficult it had been for him to withstand the force behind that punch. His palm was still numb.
The entire cafeteria instantly erupted. Lu Yuan had actually gained the upper hand in that exchange. Though Qin Yuan had not used his Martial Soul, neither had Lu Yuan.
Who could have imagined that Lu Yuan would not only remain uninjured, but even knock Qin Yuan back?
"This kid!" Yuan Xin's eyes widened. He had never expected his roommate to be so capable.
"Hehe, this is interesting!" Yan Xiang's eyes lit up. As a typical strength-type Soul Master, he revered power above all else. Lu Yuan's ability to force Qin Yuan back with that punch had piqued his interest.
Qin Yuan's Purgatory Demon Wolf was not a strength-type Martial Soul, but his Soul Power was high, and it was still a beast Martial Soul. The force of his punch was considerable. For Lu Yuan to take it without the slightest injury meant that his physical strength could not be underestimated.
What Yan Xiang did not know was that Lu Yuan's punch had been pure physical strength alone. He had not used any Soul Power. Otherwise, Qin Yuan would have found it difficult to withstand it.
"Kid, you've angered me!" Qin Yuan's expression changed. "Purgatory Demon Wolf Possession!" Blazing flames burst forth, and the air seemed to grow scorching hot. A massive wolf wreathed in fire appeared behind Qin Yuan—it was his Hellfire Demon Wolf Spirit.
Two yellow soul rings gleamed beneath Qin Yuan's feet.
Awooo! With a wolf howl, Qin Yuan glared fixedly at Lu Yuan, savage light gleaming in his two green eyes.
Lu Yuan's gaze sharpened. He gently set down his meal tray with his left hand and prepared to summon his Martial Soul.
"Qin Yuan, what kind of skill is it to bully a new trainee? How about you and I have a spar instead?" Just as Lu Yuan was about to summon his Martial Soul, a voice rang out.
Lu Yuan's brow twitched, and he dispersed the Soul Power in his hand.
"Yan Xiang, it's you?" Qin Yuan's expression turned ugly. "What, you want to stand up for this kid?"
Yan Xiang laughed heartily. "I hit it off with this little brother at first sight and intend to make a friend of him. I can't let you bully him!" Yan Xiang was not lying. Lu Yuan's strength had indeed intrigued him, and his instincts told him that the boy had not yet shown his full power.
But strength did not equal absolute power. In Yan Xiang's view, Lu Yuan might be strong, but he was still no match for Qin Yuan. That was why he had stepped in—to forge a good relationship.
Seeing Yan Xiang and the trainees beside him, Qin Yuan knew that Lu Yuan's side was now no weaker than his own. Continuing would only lead to both sides being hurt, benefiting others instead. It was better to stop here. There would be plenty of time later, and no shortage of chances to deal with this brat.
"Since you've spoken, I'll give you some face!" Qin Yuan turned his fierce gaze toward Lu Yuan. "Kid, this isn't over!"
"I'll be waiting anytime!" Lu Yuan paid no heed to Qin Yuan's threat. He never made empty threats—he usually acted on the spot. Only incompetent people liked to make threats.
"Let's go!" Qin Yuan waved his hand. A large group followed behind him as they marched out of the cafeteria, carrying away a certain unconscious blond-haired boy as well.
"Thank you, Senior!" Lu Yuan thanked Yan Xiang. Though he had not feared Qin Yuan in the slightest, Yan Xiang had been willing to help him, and he had to remember that goodwill.
"No need. You're Little Xin's friend, which makes you my friend. What's such a small matter?" Yan Xiang chuckled.
Lu Yuan could not help but smile. Just as Yuan Xin had said, Yan Xiang was indeed quite straightforward and generous.
"Brother Lu, let's eat together. Now that Qin Yuan's bunch is gone, the cafeteria is much more peaceful. Perfect time for a meal!" Yan Xiang said.
Lu Yuan nodded, picked up his meal tray, and sat down at the table. The group soon began chatting animatedly.
I got a little stuck on this chapter and wasn't very satisfied with how it turned out!
