Hearing the commotion, Mei was the first to react. She turned around and saw a skyful of ice spikes hurtling toward them.
The ice spikes formed a vast net, surrounding the three of them.
As they crossed over one another, they let out grating creaks.
"Wow... I didn't know she could make so many of those." Kiana smacked her lips.
She did not take the ice spikes seriously at all.
She opened a huge portal in front of herself and swallowed every last ice spike.
Meanwhile, elsewhere.
"Um... Lord Lin Nai, aren't we going over there?" Night Owl asked.
He was somewhat eager to make a move.
Lin Nai was playing cards with Raven. Without even raising his head, he said, "It's fine. Leave it to Kiana and the others."
Durandal was watching nearby anyway.
If anything went wrong... it didn't matter. Golden Durandal would step in.
Kids had to grow too.

The Herrscher of Ice could not possibly cause Kiana and the others any real harm.

Wasn't this a rare chance for Kiana and the others to go all out against a Herrscher?

They still had some feelings for them, so they held back a little.

That Kiana's Flying Kick might have even kicked the Herrscher of Ice's veil loose.
"Night Owl, I know you're in a hurry, but don't be in such a hurry."
Raven played a three and glanced at him. "There's no difference between this and getting off work now."
"So don't be in such a rush to get off work. It's still early. Why not do something else?"
