The lawyer arrived quickly, showing up within half an hour.

What surprised Li Ye and the others, however, was that she was a white female lawyer.

Take the legal profession. If a female lawyer had managed to make a name for herself, she must have endured countless harsh trials and slapped the faces of who knew how many old white men.

After arriving, she did not waste a single word.

"Are you Mr. Li? I'm Ilena. What do I need to do to prove my abilities?"

Li Ye pointed at Zhen Rongrong. "This is a friend of mine. She was just fired by this restaurant's owner for discriminatory reasons, and they're refusing to pay her wages. Do you have any suggestions?"

"..."

Ilena looked at Li Ye in surprise. Several seconds later, she asked doubtfully, "Mr. Li, you hired me as your personal lawyer. Is this the sort of matter I'll usually be handling?"

"Not entirely."

Li Ye answered mildly, then asked in return, "Miss Ilena, do you feel there is something inappropriate about this?"

Ilena shook her head slightly and said with an amused smile, "I have no problem at all. But I hope you understand that using my abilities on such a minor matter will only waste your money."

Li Ye looked at Ilena and smiled as well. "Both Cartier and Casio can keep precise time, but no Cartier is a waste."

"..."

Ilena froze for a moment, then smiled. "Thank you, Mr. Li. I hope our cooperation will be pleasant."

At the time, Japanese products were running rampant in America, flourishing like the sun at noon, and Casio was one of them. Yet Ilena wore a
