Early in the morning, Li Ye woke up in his dorm at Peking University, still somewhat dazed.
During the last month in America, Wen Leyu had come knocking every morning, and the two of them would head to the stable together.
Li Ye was responsible for shoveling horse manure, while Wen Leyu took care of the saddles, stirrups, and other riding gear. Then the young couple would tread through the morning dew to greet the rising sun. In just over a month, they had both mastered the basics of riding.
Now that he was back at Peking University, suddenly idle again, Li Ye found himself a little unaccustomed to it.
"Old Si, Sixth Uncle, what time is it?"
"..."
Li Ye called out several times, but no one answered.
When he sat up and looked around, he found that he was the only one left in the dormitory.
Li Ye took out his watch and checked it. It had only just turned seven.
Graduation was drawing near, and everyone was busy.
Li Ye got up lazily, washed up, and wandered all the way to the cafeteria. He found Wen Leyu already eating by herself.
Across from Wen Leyu sat several breakfast items Li Ye usually liked.
Li Ye plopped down without ceremony, grabbed a bun, and started eating. His appetite was as good as ever.
"Why are you up so early today? Did you have trouble sleeping in a strange bed last night?"
Wen Leyu smiled and pushed her half-bowl of millet porridge toward Li Ye.
"No, I slept great! I only just got here too."
After this trip to America, Wen Leyu had begun to change.
Back then, if Li Ye failed to meet Wen Leyu at the cafeteria on time in the morning, she would foolishly wait for
