Background / History

Tang San's past-life memories include being punished by Tang Sect elders, having his limbs shattered, and being abandoned to die at Ghost Cries Cliff. His soul later arrives in the Douluo world as Tang Hao's son, carrying the Tang Sect's cultivation methods and hidden-weapon arts with him 241 279.

As a child in Holy Soul Village, he becomes the unintended victim of Yun Feng's Heaven Suppressing Stele. Yun Feng's cultivation drains Tang San's blood and life force while forcing impurity-filled soul power into his body. Tang San is left skeletal, bloodthirsty, and close to bursting apart; frightened villagers witness him drinking blood and eating raw flesh 2. The affliction continues to damage his meridians and reduce his strength even after he begins studying at Notting Academy 6 12.

He initially develops Blue Silver Grass as a Control System Soul Master, while relying on observation, Purple Demon Eyes, hidden weapons, and tactical positioning. His worsening condition and repeated defeats during the academy tournament lead him to abandon Blue Silver Grass as his main path and cultivate the Clear Sky Hammer instead 50 106 257.

Tang San returns from the Star Dou Great Forest with five ten-thousand-year Clear Sky Hammer soul rings and reaches Level 56. During the journey to Spirit City, he fights off an ambush with the Godly Zhuge Crossbow, concealed weapons, and his hammer before being overwhelmed by stronger opponents 258 262.

At Spirit Hall, Bibi Dong exposes his otherworldly origin and his connection to Tang Hao and the Blue Silver Emperor. Tang San is permitted to name one request; he chooses to kill Yu Xiaogang, whom he blames for using him as a test subject and nearly causing his death. When he refuses to surrender the Mysterious Heaven Skill, Tang Hao rescues him from Spirit Hall 278 280 281.

Tang Hao subsequently trains him in the Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer and seals his soul power to intensify his cultivation. Tang San reaches Level 60 within a year, but the attempt to awaken his Blue Silver Emperor bloodline ends disastrously when Ah Yin identifies him as the occupier of her son's body and reclaims the bloodline. Tang San loses Blue Silver Grass, its soul rings, and ten levels of soul power, then flees pursuit and chooses Slaughter City as a refuge 283 285 287.

Appearance

Tang San's appearance is heavily altered by his injuries, bloodline loss, and repeated life-threatening battles. After Shi Nian's attack, one of his reattached arms remains shorter than the other; after Ah Yin reclaims the Blue Silver Emperor bloodline, he becomes shorter and more disfigured 242 287.

  • His reattached arm is visibly shorter than its counterpart 242.
  • After losing the Blue Silver Emperor bloodline, his height regresses to barely over 1.4 meters 287.
  • His body later develops black coloration through the fusion of Wrath Divine Power, the Clear Sky Hammer, and absorbed soul-ring energy 402.
  • He bears the God of Wrath mark on his forehead after accepting the inheritance 402.

Personality

Tang San is calculating and observant in battle. He studies opponents through Purple Demon Eyes, waits for openings rather than rushing in, and prioritizes survival when outmatched 106 240. His experience across two lives gives him unusual composure under pressure; even while fleeing Qian Renxue, he focuses on repairing his body and preserving his condition rather than acting rashly 413.

He is also intensely resentful and vindictive. He distrusts Yu Xiaogang long before openly turning on him, kills his former teacher when given the opportunity, and develops hatred toward Tang Hao after learning the truth behind his bloodline 137 280 287. In Slaughter City, he embraces the principle that mercy toward enemies is cruelty toward oneself 288.

His confidence can become overconfidence. A string of victories causes him to neglect the problem of coordinating his many soul skills, and he underestimates the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger before its counterattack forces him to reassess his fighting style 393 395.

Abilities & Skills

Twin Martial Souls

Tang San possesses Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer, a combination Bibi Dong identifies as proof of his parentage in this life 279.

  • Blue Silver Grass — Used for control, battlefield coverage, binding, cages, thrust arrays, and the Blue Silver Tyrant Spear 396.
  • Clear Sky Hammer — His primary source of explosive force after he loses faith in Blue Silver Grass 257 258.
  • Blue Silver Emperor bloodline — Once amplified his Blue Silver Grass, but Ah Yin reclaimed it, causing that martial soul and its rings to vanish at the time 287.
  • Martial Soul compatibility — The Clear Sky Hammer eventually recognizes him completely, further evolving his body and increasing his near-divine power 401 402.

Mysterious Heaven Skill

Tang San cultivates the Mysterious Heaven Skill, a Tang Sect inner-power method that supports his resilience, recovery, and use of hidden weapons 2 395.

  • Purges impurity-filled soul power forced into his body by Yun Feng's actions 2.
  • Forms a protective inner-power aura while he cultivates or meditates 395.
  • Supports rapid adjustment of soul power between linked attacks 396.
  • Becomes an object of interest to Spirit Hall and Tang Hao because it can increase Innate Soul Power 279 280.

Tang Sect Secret Arts

Tang San retains techniques from his past life and applies them alongside his martial souls.

  • Purple Demon Eyes — Enhances observation and releases concentrated spiritual attacks; he uses it to disrupt poison mist and to prepare an attack inside Qian Renxue's Angel Domain 106 396 411.
  • Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track — A movement technique used to retreat quickly from superior enemies 262.
  • Hidden weapons — Uses flying needles, poison, and the Thousand Hands Asura technique to attack numerous enemies at once 262 442.
  • Godly Zhuge Crossbow — A powerful concealed weapon, though ineffective inside Shi Nian's Lingering Dream illusion 240.

Clear Sky Hammer Techniques

Tang San develops the Clear Sky Hammer into his most destructive combat option.

  • Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer — Learned through waterfall training under Tang Hao; later used at full strength against the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger 283 393.
  • Grand Sumeru Hammer — Converts absolute conviction into overwhelming hammer power and leads Tang San to gain the Clear Sky Hammer's recognition 401.
  • Ring Detonation — Shatters soul rings for a temporary power surge; its backlash leaves him weak, slows soul-power recovery, and severely damages his body 407 412.
  • Mutated Clear Sky Hammer — His evolved hammer can injure Qian Renxue and is treated as a vital companion that nourishes his recovery 404 412.

Eight Spider Lances

The Eight Spider Lances evolve into a god-level soul bone after devouring the Man-Faced Demon Spider Emperor 397.

  • Bind and drain the three Thousand Jun Ant Emperors 400.
  • Provide corrosive poison and attribute suppression against Thousand Jun Ant Emperors 416.
  • Sustain Tang San through otherwise fatal injuries during his battle with Qian Renxue 412.
  • Contribute to his growth from Level 88 past Level 89 397.

Wrath Divine Power

Tang San accepts the God of Wrath's inheritance and incorporates its power into his martial souls, body, and later divine equipment 402 452.

  • Repairs ruptured meridians and restores blood circulation after battle 413.
  • Draws upon anger in the world to fuel recovery and combat power 413.
  • Enables the Wrath Domain, which spreads blackness across the battlefield and makes his body difficult to lock onto 444.
  • Forms Wrath Divine Armor, evolved from the God of Wrath's original divine artifact and possessing exceptional devouring and filtering abilities 453.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Godly Zhuge Crossbow — Concealed crossbow used against Soul Masters and ambushers; ineffective against Lingering Dream's illusionary environment 240 262.
  • Hidden weapons — Includes flying needles and later poisons designed to threaten god-level opponents 262 442.
  • Eight Spider Lances — Evolved god-level soul bone that binds, drains, poisons, and suppresses enemies 397 400 416.
  • Mutated Clear Sky Hammer — Evolved hammer martial soul wielded as Tang San's decisive weapon against Qian Renxue 404 409.
  • Wrath Divine Armor — Divine armor evolved from the God of Wrath's original artifact 453.

Relationships

  • Tang Hao — His father in this life. Tang Hao repeatedly rescues and trains him, but secretly seeks to exploit Tang San's bloodline; Tang San likewise harbors hostile intentions toward Tang Hao's future son 241 283 285.
  • Ah Yin — Regarded publicly as his mother, but she identifies him as the one occupying her son's body. She reclaims the Blue Silver Emperor bloodline from him 279 287.
  • Yu Xiaogang — Former teacher. Tang San suspects Yu Xiaogang caused his physical afflictions, later learns he was used as a test subject, and personally kills him 77 278 280.
  • Yun Feng — Long-term enemy whose cultivation initially devastates Tang San's body. Tang San nevertheless sees him as a father figure during the Spirit Hall crisis before their hostility fully hardens 2 279.
  • Qian Renxue — Angel God and persistent divine-level opponent. Their battles force Tang San to improve, use Ring Detonation, and eventually rely on Goddess of Mercy Tears 404 407 412.
  • Tang Chen — His great-grandfather and a powerful supporter who possesses part of the Asura God's divine power 389.
  • God of Wrath — Divine patron who rescues Tang San at a critical moment and ultimately grants him an inheritance 287 441 452.
  • Oscar — Ally whose Recovery Sausages support Tang San during his battle against Qian Renxue 407.
