Looking at the figures, Lyka walked toward the one with the clearest face, the one nearest to him.

"Excuse me, can you hear me?"

The figure ignored Lyka and kept wandering aimlessly, until Lyka stepped in front of him and blocked his path.

A fist came crashing out, accompanied by the swipe of a Magic Beast's claw. Lyka raised his arm and blocked the blow.

But it was as though the figure's name had suddenly turned red. He refused to let up, pulling all manner of strange Witchcraft Artifacts from his person and hurling them at Lyka.

Lyka blocked several attacks and spent a long time trying to reason with him, but the figure knew only how to attack. Lyka stopped holding back.

Once Lyka truly made his move, the Witchcraft practitioner was no match for him. Lyka easily deflected every Witchcraft attack, then twisted the man's limbs with a few sharp cracks and pinned him to the ground.

Just as Lyka was about to try reasoning with him again, the figure abruptly disintegrated on his own.

Specks of light gathered around Lyka. In that instant, he felt his body become a little more solid.

It was not solidity in the sense of something immaterial becoming material. It was the solidity of a proven existence. After absorbing those points of light, however, he could feel himself changing from a person in a memory into someone truly new, separate from the very concept of Chen Cheng.
