Inside the academy safe house, the scrapped humanoid puppet from before had been left lying on the floor.

However, the ground and walls around the puppet had been coated with a layer of Mithril, upon which dense, secretive magic had been inscribed.

At that moment, Adolf and the other man sat cross-legged before the puppet, using every detection spell they knew to analyze it, hoping to uncover some clues.

After all, their earlier speculation had been far too horrifying, so it was best to confirm it carefully.

By then, the two of them could confirm that the mastermind behind this incident had to be a Legendary Mage. Only such a great figure possessed the ability and resources to create a flawless humanoid puppet with Platinum Rank strength.

Every Legendary Mage was known throughout the entire continent. So long as a Legendary Rank powerhouse truly appeared, everyone on the continent would sense it vaguely, and that powerhouse's name would emerge in their minds.

There were only a handful of people skilled at crafting puppets as well, so the two merely wanted to identify the mastermind through their analysis of this puppet.

Even if learning the enemy's identity would not allow the two of them to do anything to a Legendary Mage, it could at least serve as a small weakness to hold against that powerhouse.

Yet after examining it closely, they discovered that the puppet had been completely deactivated. Every trace of human intervention within it, especially all of its magical inscriptions, had vanished without a trace. What stood before them was a newly made, flawless humanoid puppet, one so fresh from the furnace that it had not even had magic patterns engraved upon it.

Upon reaching that conclusion, both of them repeatedly exclaimed that it was impossible.
