Doyle nodded as he spoke.
Over the next few days, Doyle put Chen Cheng and his companions up in an intact stone house near the city center.
Chen Cheng and his companions already had a plan in mind, so they went about everything at an unhurried pace.
But their lack of urgency only made One-Eye more uneasy.
Freedom was right before his eyes, yet Chen Cheng and the others showed no sign of leaving. His longing for freedom was nearly consuming him.
"One-Eye, what's been going on with you lately? You don't sleep at night, and during the day you just sit alone in a daze."
Missing Tooth, the stooped warehouse keeper, walked over with a smile and asked him.
One-Eye glanced at Missing Tooth. He had no desire to talk to him.
If he was really going to carry out his plan, Missing Tooth, who was so old he could barely walk, was hardly someone worth recruiting.

He covered one eye with his hand, imitating One-Eye to mock him.
"Hmph. I don't want to waste my breath on you, One-Eye.
"Besides, things are finally looking up. The Empire's angel is here. From now on, we can stay in the city during Wind Season instead of going out to draw that thing's attention."
Missing Tooth gave One-Eye a disdainful look, then clasped his hands behind his back and turned to leave.
