The Vanished Ruins

Brother Octopus tapped the ground with his tentacles, then said to She Li:

"You, the one with the knife, put in some effort. There's still a stone pressing down on this. Use your knife to carve out a hole. The keyhole should be beneath this stone base."

Chen Cheng nodded at She Li.

"Be careful."

She Li pulled out his Butcher Knife. With a few swishes, as fluid as drifting clouds and flowing water, he directly carved a hole into the stone base forged from Starstone.

The wind happened to be fierce at that moment, so there was no need to clear away the stone chips—they were swept away by the gale.

They jumped down through the opening, and sure enough, there was a token-shaped indentation below.

"Be careful. The entrance should be down there."

Chen Cheng took out the token, pressed it into the indentation, and gently turned it.

The next instant, a crack sounded. The token sprang back out and was caught by him, while the two men and one octopus began free-falling downward.

Brother Octopus's tentacles stretched out from beneath Chen Cheng and patted his face.

"Get off me, brat! You're about to crush this lord to death!"

"Damn, no wonder the fall felt so soft. I thought I'd landed in some shit pit. Turns out it was you, you dead octopus."

Chen Cheng never forgot to take a few digs at Brother Octopus.

Yet Brother Octopus merely glared at Chen Cheng resentfully and did not squabble with him as he usually did.

Chen Cheng walked over, picked him up, shook the dust off him, then placed him on his shoulder.

"Stay put. Don't say I didn't take care of you."
