Ch. 185Taking Control of Terra

After the Fiery Bosom’s deliberate destruction caused catastrophic losses, Guilliman abandoned his plans to ease the bureaucrats into reform and prepared to purge Terra. He appointed Qin Yun acting Regent before departing on the Indomitus Crusade, leaving Jack to help him control the Council of Terra.

  • Plassorius described how false orders and sabotaged systems triggered the Fiery Bosom’s explosion, while Inquisitor Gallen reported evidence of a coordinated effort to delay the Fifth Fleet’s assembly.
  • Guilliman, enraged by the investigation, agreed with Qin Yun to accelerate the purge of Terra and said he would depart on the crusade while Qin Yun took control.
  • Guilliman summoned Imperial Chancellor Jack and told her to assist Qin Yun after he left Terra to lead the assembled fleets against Chaos.
  • Guilliman announced Qin Yun as acting Regent before the Council of Terra, shocking the High Lords and delighting factions that expected Guilliman’s departure to ease pressure on them.
  • The players reacted to Qin Yun’s sudden promotion, and Little Alpaca said he would remain in the Calixis Sector to gather Relics before facing the Indomitus Crusade.

He sent Old Bird and Reckless General to search Mars for the Akashic Reader, and ended by opening the Emperor’s reward to find a legendary spear.

  • Qin Yun used the Infinity Key to reverse the damage to the Golden Throne, restore its operation, and reduce its consumption of Psykers, though he knew the repair would only delay its eventual collapse.
  • The Emperor manifested through a radiant portal and sent Cherubs with a message and a chest; Qin Yun asked the Emperor to approve Guilliman’s plan to restore the Adeptus Custodes’ Ten Thousand and send them into the galaxy.
  • Qin Yun warned Trajan that he could tell the Emperor about the Captain-General’s conduct, then left the Imperial Palace.
  • Qin Yun sent Old Bird and Reckless General to Mars to search Lava City for the Akashic Reader, offering them the chance to earn an Aquila Medal.

  • Irtu Simotern and other former and current Imperial leaders plotted to seize key officials, remove the Living Saint from Terra, and overthrow the reforms.
  • Fadix entered Qin Yun’s room and said he had come to assassinate him, then offered his loyalty and explained that Guilliman had asked him to help uncover Terra’s corruption.

Ch. 191Will You Betray the Omnissiah?

The Caretaker Matrix’s history and downfall were revealed as Cawl and the players recovered it and the Akashic Reader, only to be detained by Laski. Meanwhile, Qin Yun prepared to expose a coup on Terra before traveling to Mars, where he confronted Laski as the Omnissiah.

  • The Caretaker Matrix’s attempt to use the Akashic Reader left it mentally compromised after the souls of Koriel Zeth and the Psykers merged with its mind, and Cawl separated the Matrix from the Reader and secured both for the Living Saint.
  • Laski surrounded Cawl and the players, offered them rewards to betray Cawl, then had them disarmed and taken to Olympus Forge when Old Bird refused.
  • Old Bird concluded that the players’ capture was part of the high-reward mission, and Qin Yun’s new missions tasked players with recovering the Caretaker Matrix and the Akashic Reader.

  • Qin Yun appeared as the Living Saint before Laski, healed the captured players, and received Laski’s oath of loyalty for Mars.
  • Qin Yun told Laski to deceive Irtu Simotern’s faction into believing the Reformists had been suppressed, while false reports claimed the Living Saint had been gravely wounded on Terra.
  • Roskaffler warned Jack that the Living Saint’s supposed assassination would be used to undermine reforms, but Jack was rejected by Ma Av Ashalil and imprisoned by Merada Peris.
  • Irtu Simotern launched a rebellion, suppressed it with military support, and publicly condemned the reforms; Fadix then proposed a petition to force other Council members out.
  • Qin Yun learned that many families had signed the petition and told Trajan to prepare the Adeptus Custodes and Inquisition to arrest the named traitors without letting anyone escape.

Ch. 193Terra's Spring

Qin Yun prepared the Adeptus Custodes, Officio Assassinorum, and Inquisition to crush Terra's rebels, then launched the limited-time "Terra's Spring" expansion to involve players in the purge. After recovering new technologies from the Emperor and giving Mars knowledge and plans for vast habitats, he left Terra's future relocation to Laski as players welcomed the expansion.
