Paying Respects to a Patron, Nine Heavens Divine Canon!
In the end, the Nine Heavens Goddess did not explain why she wanted to take Song Changming as her disciple.
Yet Song Changming was already somewhat tempted.
In the past, he could have remained in the immortal army, serving as a minor heavenly general and steadily climbing the ranks. Relying on himself, he could still carve out a future. He did not necessarily need to seek refuge under this Goddess.
But being drawn into the Immortal-Buddha Conflict had brought risks far beyond his expectations.
He had never imagined that, as a mere True Immortal, he would provoke a Saint Buddha. It was completely outside the bounds of reason.
As things stood, even Venerable Abyss could no longer protect him. He had no choice but to find a more powerful patron if he wanted greater security.
Becoming this Goddess's disciple was not necessarily a bad thing.
At the very least, this Goddess had directly forced that Saint Buddha back before. That was genuine deterrence!
His only concern was that her motives and intentions remained unclear.
But on second thought, if someone of her stature truly wished to harm or scheme against him, there was no need to go through so much trouble.
He was standing right here. If the Goddess wanted to deal with him, she could casually control him with the flick of a finger.
He was more inclined to believe that there was some hidden matter connected to him, or that only he could provide the answer to some mystery.
At the very least, he possessed some value that made the Goddess regard him differently.
"Rest assured, she won't harm you," Myriad Flowers Immortal's voice drifted over when she saw that Song Changming had not immediately agreed, interrupting his thoughts.
