Background / History

Su Qingqing was born to Su Fengye of the Longevity Su Clan and Xi Yanxue, a Nine-tailed Divine Fox. Because the Longevity Su Clan regarded Su Fengye's union with a demon as disgraceful, its elders severely injured Xi Yanxue and Su Qingqing was sent away to a border town in the Ancient Abyss Kingdom. Her mother later disappeared, and Su Qingqing was abducted to the Land of Great Fog by a Corpse Refining Sect member, who intended to refine her Yin Meridian body into a Yin Puppet once she turned sixteen. She repeatedly attempted escape and was punished with near-starvation when caught. 215 280 281

Song Changming found her in the Land of Great Fog, identified her through the ancient-script jade identity token she carried, and took her in after the cultist threat was resolved. In Wangyue Commandery, Su Qingqing trusted only Song Changming and chose to remain at his side. 214 225

Song Changming began training her in body-refining exercises and later swordsmanship. Her initial frailty left her exhausted within an hour, but she refused to quit. He also assigned her errands resolving local injustices so that she could gain practical experience rather than train in isolation. 226 230

At thirteen, she had become a recognized young heroine in Wangyue Commandery. Her inexperience nearly proved fatal when she trusted villagers investigating bandits and walked into Zhang De's ambush; Song Changming rescued her only when she was at immediate risk of death.
