Background / History

Luo Han developed Illusion after realizing that his Divine Sense could perceive sight, smell, taste, touch, and faint emotional awareness as information. By using Mind Power to alter that information, he created Five Senses Control and forced Sea Kings attacking Ring Tree Island to perceive one another as enemies. The ability saved the island, though maintaining it exhausted him after roughly two hours. 35

Two years later, Luo Han had formally named the ability Illusion. He preferred it to Psychokinesis and continued developing it independently at night. 38

Illusion became central to Luo Han’s concealment and battlefield tactics. He deceived a Sea King into believing it was still underwater while restraining it with Psychokinesis, misled CP0 about his physical condition, and arranged for a Sea King to swallow himself and Cole so their pursuers would abandon the chase. 52 63 64

While traveling through Jaya Island, Luo Han identified a major flaw: Illusion could make Chiyue appear smaller, but it could not remove her actual body from the road. Pedestrians who collided with her could notice the inconsistency. He spent days experimenting until he achieved Perfect Illusion, which made people subconsciously walk around Chiyue’s true body while believing they had passed an ordinary-sized woman. 210 212 213

Five-Sense Interference

Illusion rewrites sensory information received by targets within Luo Han’s Divine Sense range. It can alter what they see, hear, feel, smell, or otherwise perceive without changing the underlying physical object. 35 114

Perfect Illusion

Perfect Illusion supplements sensory alteration with implanted cognitive information. Rather than merely changing what a target sees, it makes the target’s subconscious behavior conform to the false perception. 213

• Records an idea—such as Chiyue’s true size—and implants it into affected targets’ mental worlds. 213
• Causes people to unconsciously avoid hidden obstacles while perceiving their movements as natural and uninterrupted. 213
• Makes distant observers interpret altered movements consistently, preventing them from noticing that others detoured around an unseen body. 213

Limitations

• Illusion’s original form altered sensory signals rather than physical reality; a target could expose the deception by colliding with an unseen object or noticing an impossible physical result. 210 212
• Large-scale Five Senses Control consumes substantial stamina and mental energy. Luo Han could initially sustain the Sea King illusion for only about two hours before collapsing. 35 65
• Mind Fruit techniques burden both Luo Han’s body and mind; mental exhaustion is more difficult for him to recover from than physical fatigue. 65
