In short, if one wanted to destroy the world, plague-like necromantic magic was undoubtedly the best choice after Elemental Magic. In terms of psychological trauma alone, necromantic magic was even more terrifying.

The high burst damage of Elemental Magic meant that the enemy might not even know what had happened before vanishing into the universe amidst the torrent of elemental power.
