Noah looked at the two somewhat nervous people before him with amusement. He had thought they would not dare ask that question.
That was why Noah had not planned to tell them much at first. But now that they had asked, he did not mind telling them something new.
He could treat it as giving them time to prepare themselves mentally. After all, something like this truly required proper mental preparation, lest they end up like Charles.
One Charles was enough. Noah did not blame Charles, because Charles had not known what the future would bring, and Noah himself had not wanted to explain.
Thus, Charles had focused more on the issue of Mutants. Or rather, even after joining the magical world, he had maintained that mindset from beginning to end.
But Noah had to make things clearer for these two. Setting everything else aside, the fact that they were Noah's apprentices meant that they were already destined to be mages of Kamar-Taj. They needed to shoulder the responsibilities they should bear.
"All right, I can tell you." Noah nodded, and his expression grew much more serious. "But prepare yourselves. This is both a reward and a responsibility."
"Responsibility?" Strange and Wanda exchanged a glance, then looked back at Noah with determined eyes.
Clearly, they understood some of these principles. One thing that had always been emphasized in the teachings of Noah's Sanctum was that one's power and one's responsibilities and obligations were inseparable.
This sort of education had long been widely used throughout magical circles around the world. Its fundamental purpose was not to stress what mages ought to do in the future, but to prevent the emergence of troublemakers.
Like that newbie village boss Noah had once faced—Voldemort. That man was a typical example.
