Law of Wood: Wither and Decay

Jiuyou Daoist was knocked back several steps, a thread of black blood spilling from the corner of his mouth. Xian Ling'er was also forced back, the spiritual light of her White Long Sword dimming.

The two looked at each other, and each saw wariness in the other's eyes.

"Fine Law of Earth," Jiuyou Daoist said in a low voice, wiping away the black blood at the corner of his mouth. "As expected, it restrains this poor Daoist's Law of Wood."

Xian Ling'er said calmly, "Your little bit of mastery in the Law of Wood isn't bad either. If I didn't have this little bit of mastery in the Law of Earth, I wouldn't be your opponent."

Jiuyou Daoist was silent for a moment, then suddenly laughed. "Xian Ling'er, you and I are the same kind of people. We are both pitiable worms trapped in a low-tier realm. You want to ascend to the upper realm, and so do I. Your Law of Earth, though powerful, is not enough to let you break through Void Refining. You need help from the outside world, and so do I."

He paused, then continued, "Why don't you and I join hands? You let me enter the Tianlan Region, and I'll help you break through Void Refining. A win for both sides."

Xian Ling'er looked at him, the corner of her mouth curving into a cold smile. "Let you in? Don't even dream of it."

Jiuyou Daoist's expression did not change as he said calmly, "This poor Daoist is sincere. If you and I join hands, we will be unrivaled under heaven. Once this poor Daoist breaks through Void Refining and ascends to the upper realm, naturally I will no longer threaten the Yang Realm. You will also have one less problem."
