Nirvana Vs. Decay of Death

Li Chengjie stood before the Gate of the Netherworld, looking at the misty gray road that led into endless darkness.

Li Chengjie raised his hand, and a stream of crimson-gold True Essence shot from his palm and sank into the Gate of the Netherworld. The Gate of the Netherworld slowly opened. He slipped inside, and the Gate of the Netherworld closed behind him.

Beyond the stone gate was a misty gray road. On both sides lay endless darkness, with no sky and no earth.

The air was filled with dense Netherworld Qi—icy, corrosive, brimming with deathly energy. Li Chengjie's Body Protection Spiritual Light circulated on its own, keeping the Netherworld Qi outside.

But that icy aura still pierced through the Body Protection Spiritual Light and seeped into his skin.

After walking along the road for who knew how long, a patch of misty gray light appeared ahead. The light grew brighter and brighter, more and more dazzling.

He walked out of the road, and the view before him suddenly opened wide.

The Netherworld.

The sky was gray-black, with no sun, no moon, no stars, only a thin layer of black fog enveloping everything.

The earth was black: black soil, black rocks, black vegetation.

In the distance were high mountains, their mountain bodies pitch-black, and the plants upon them pitch-black as well.

Nearby were rivers, the water deep gray, flowing slowly and soundlessly.

Li Chengjie took a deep breath. Netherworld Qi entered his lungs, as if he had swallowed a mouthful of ice.

His gaze swept around him. Between the gray-black heaven and earth, all was deathly still—no birdsong, no insect cries, not a trace of any living creature.

He lifted his foot and walked forward.

He had only taken a few steps when a figure suddenly walked out of the
