Two agonized cries tore through the oppressive atmosphere, piercing everyone's eardrums like sharp swords.

Yan Shaozhe's body fell from the sky like an eagle with broken wings. He was mercilessly cleaved in two midair, blood raining down and staining the earth below red.

One of them was Yan Shaozhe's wife, Cai Meier, Vice Dean of Shrek Academy's Martial Soul Department, with a cultivation of Rank 95.

The other was Xian Lin'er, Dean of the Soul Guidance Department, with a cultivation of Rank 96. Incidentally, she had another identity: she was the wife of Qian Duoduo, the Soul Guidance Department's Vice Dean.

As for why Xian Lin'er, despite being Qian Duoduo's wife, reacted so strongly to Yan Shaozhe's death—that was another story.
